Hi guys, late to introduce myself. used to live in USJ2 & 6 but now in Shah Alam. Just want to sound off a warning to all. bout 2 week ago lost my Victorinox backpack. Don't know how they knew there was a backpack in the car booth. No notebook in the bag but there were a Fujifilm S7000 Digital Camera & P800 SE handphone. Maybe their gadget can detect these electronic devices also. Hope all of you will learn well frm my experience. DO NOT LEAVE ANY ELECTRONIC DEVICES IN YOUR CAR, BOOTH OR NOT. Well life goes on.. no need to cry over spill milk & no need to add more pressure to this already pressure life. :D

What make is your car? My boss leaves his lappie in the boot of his BMW all the time, no problem yet. Me? I wouldn't trust my little Wira with anything apart from my life. Boss' theory is that it is easier to break into a Proton than a BMW.

:p

It would be prudent to be aware of your surroundings before you place any bags (with or without laptops) in the car boot. I eventually figured out how my laptop was "extracted" out of car boot. There is no better to place (if necessary) your laptop other than the car boot to hide it from prying eyes, but before you do that please see whether the car is located at an open area where there could be more than a couple eyes scanning for opportunities.

A good starting place to keep your laptop into the boot might be; i.e. from home, underground car parks, or anywhere away from open places.

Oh, if possible, disable your car boot locks if possible; i.e. stuff the key hole with chewing gum :D

Mine is Proton Gen 1 or the original Poton Saga. They must have a detector or something. Other equipment like heat sensor (2 units) also not taken. they were after electronic or digital stuff only lah. But the really annoying thing is my business & personal notes references. That want cannot buy back lol. So guys, trouble yrself a bit & bring it along or leave it at home/offc. Like I say... heh Life goes On.....

I've heard that they use a detector to detect emissions given out by the laptop battery, not sure how true is that.
