I wonder how many of you made immediate booking when this movie is just been released? I saw the trailer of this movie, seems quite interesting to me and looking fwd to see it. Just can't wait.

Is this movie something like LOTR?? :confused: Will this movie be the next big thing for the whole year 2007? What do you guys think?

I must be so outdated. Have not heard about this movie at all but thought I saw it's preview on Astro lately but didn't pay much attention to it.

I've just watched the movie this afternoon. The movie can say one of the best so far for this year. Sound, the stunts, the spears right thru the body ... its so breathe taking. Story line I think its not too bad. Actors are all muscular and new.

Its bout the brave Spartan King and his 300 followers. And how the evil Persian so claims himself God wants to conquer their land, take their childrens and wifes as slave.

Very nice movie..A must for those comic , war , gore movie bluffs..

It is based on a graphical comic book which is based on one of those famous last stand battle.

So in this movie , this King Leonaci of Sparta choose 300 very able sparta soldier who have sons to continue their family name , to defence and fight off King Xerxes 1 , huge army invasion into this greece (Greek) land , which consists many those state country..those days lah.

Cannot sent whole army , because Sparta stupid parliment (council ) and oracles ( stupid hampsum old men priests on top mountain with young virgin priestess/oracle ) don allow because near the olympic games bla bla...

So ah King and his men went to fight the king xerces men , near that cliff seaside area , where only fast way is thro this valley , where spartan 300 defence..

Good points of this movie , is the cinemagraphictology is very like comic and yet with very good simple acting in movie..The war scenes are very nice and crispy with heads , limbs flying here and there ...Screams of people stabbing , chopping and cry wars and battle formation are very nice and interesting..Can see King Xerces1 army (Persian) consists of many weird , scary soldiers of many kinds..facing this tight and fierce fighting sparta.

The emotions are high and mighty the sparta ever high to kill as much as many..With slogan sparta rule " No retreat , No surrender "..

Very nice to watch..me also screaming with delights..Such novelity is very rare..Must see must..Very surprising also , the censorship is quite mininum , only heavy part is King Leorni XXX with his wife only...and the King xerces1 harem scenes..Very surprising. Must see..300!

Yea yea, King Xerces have very exotic women around to lure that greece gore. THen one of the parliment fella go xxx King Leoniz's wife (the princess) but actually tipu onee .... he is the traitor for Spartans. Surprise not many scene censored this time.

Maybe the show is still new. I bet after 1 week go back to the cinema and watch this show, it will be diff again.

THe movie was a solid 2 hr movie. I think if DVD it would have been longer than that.

Yeah, gotta say that it's one of the best movies I've seen this year. Not much on storyline lah - but different movies offer different experiences. Very stylish battle scenes, lots and lots of 6- no, wait - 8-packs - and a whole load of testosterone to go with it. We even had some members of the audience clapping when the credits rolled!

Watching that movie in the cinema, you won't even wanna have a second blink when the movie starts. Gosh! Just wonder now, how the hell every one of them trained until they have 6-8 packs and built up shoulders.

Imagine only 300 men there, using shield again those Persian army of thousands ... manage to have the strength to push the forces out and kill almost everyone of them. That's just amazes me! 300 men in their underwear out to the battle field near the cliff to fight against their enemy. Uses dead corpes to stack up at the side of cliff to make cover.

If any of you have seen The Last Samurai you'd get some idea. In The Last Samurai near the ending, when Tom Cruise told Ken Watanabe about the 300 Spartans who fought the Persians. Ken then asked what happened to the Spartans...Tom said, they all died. He was talking about the event in 300. :)

I have not seen it tho so I did not read anything on this thread.

There aren't enough words to describe how I loved the 300.

It's like someone waved a magic wand & before you can say bibbety-boppety-boo, the graphic novel came to life. The action sequences were superb. Cinematograpy & Lighting were REALLY spot-on. The whole movie had an ethereal feel about it - the skies were too moody, the six-packs just a little too chiseled, the battle just a little too spectacular.. exactly how the graphic novel is.

I didn't care who the actors were. They *were* Leonidas, Xerxes, Gorgo... When the captain cried out when his son's head was cut off.. can feel all the way down your spine.

That's the way it is supposed to be - you don't want to think that the actor played a good part - you want to believe the actor *is* the part, and move on to the story. A credit to their skills as actors, perhaps or maybe more a testament of how much I liked the story to begin with.

For those of you who noticed how they translated the title of the movie: 300 Pahlawan Berani Mati. That alone, was worth the price of admission. I died laughing!!

Anyhow, this was one of the rare times when the movie delivered all that the trailer promised & more. I love, I love, I love.

Now Transformers better not suck.

Saw it last nite. Yeah, loved the movie too! Can this be considered the re-make of the 1962 '300 Spartans' movie? The Battle of Thermopylae. I liked that movie too.

Oh, and the 6 or 8 packs... woweeee...! :D

Yeah, when the captain's son died, the father was so damn sad and the whole scene suddenly so sad. I almost had tears from my eyes. Can actually feel the situation there.

Yea eve, I'm also training hard again .... hoping to get those 6-8packs instead of 1 big pack.

This movie, macam macam also got. The Persians were very cunning and spoilt sports. They used all kinds of animals to aid them in the war, mammoths included? But I really luv the fighting sequences and the combination of shields and spears by the Spartans. Really had class and so real. Yeah..don't like those ugly, gory looking things with the oracle..and that fella who forced the queen to make a deal with him..all traitors. So the story goes..

I learnt something here. :P:P:P Stand firm to what you believe in, and never be afraid of anyone who wants hell for you. And, it really is true, that what goes around comes around. At the end, altho all 300 perished, their descendants and people became stronger and more united.

in this movie, it's all about fighting for FREEDOM. And that very powerful feeling of love (the king for his queen)..that needs no words.

But I'm wondering, how did the fight go after that? At the end of the movie I mean. Looked like thousands upon thousands of Spartans were awaiting to charge at a bunch of Persians?

Haha ... Mon mon, now only you go watch this movie? Outdate by few weeks already at least. Anyway, is good you still manage to catch up with the movie. I saw the making of the 300 and they interviewed few of the Spartans and the traitors and the Persian King as well. Oh yeah, the Spartan Queen off the screen is even a much more prettier lady.

What else you think the rest of thousands Spartans will do? Of cos go attack those Persians'lah. For Freedom and for their King that sacrifice himself in the battle field. Show them no fear!!!! A bit similar like the chinese movie acted by The Legend Bruce Lee and Jet Lee 'Ching Mo Mun'.

But you would miss out a lot on some super duper power scenes only effective on the big screen Sugarfree. :P

One more thing, I think it's not advisable for children to watch this movie..come to think of it, it is quite violent and rough, SPOILER! those slow mo head flying parts and building of walls with thousands of corpses.
