View Full Version : Jombali at carrefour
anyone try it yet? for me, i stumble upon it after i came out of the loo...it's the same floor as domino's pizza and just right beside starbucks...environment is good...clean...comfortable..price is reasonable...
for me i had the usual msian laksa...passed, is my comment for this..my wifey tried soto beehoon...great, is her comment...and their teh ice with milk tasted quite good...will definitely go back again.....
oooo...since they the just opened, they gave us a free toasted bread....i must say it's better than uncle lim's....should try...
p/s...i would love to have my house with that kinda look... :D
Goody. New place to eat at Carrefour. :) How often do we find a clean, comfortable shop which serves reasonably priced and good food as well as drinks? I would try the soto beehoon and teh tarik ice too. Thanks for informing us sly-mee.
Oh..The name of the shop sounds like "Jumanji" :P.

I've been there a few times..
tried their toast with butter and kaya, so so only, slices too thin for my liking..
nasi lemak with chicken drumstick is quite good, reasonably priced at RM8.90
their tea with evaporated milk and condensed milk is good but i still prefer their White Kopi...
waiters there a bit on the "blur" side...
after clearing table, can just drop the menu and wait for me to order while holding the used dishes and glasses..
very efficient huh? :p

Have yet to go there to try but then saw the settings around it, quite nice ambience they got there. It gives a very relaxing kind of feel. Now I do wanna know normally until what time they close? IF late then shiok'lah, confirm I can lepak there. If not, then can just forget it.
Nowadays weather too hot to hang around outside, even those cafes.

hahaha.. i can accept it if i'm in a foul mood, i'll just take my time reading the menu, and as soon as the waiter leaves, I'll shout, I want to make order, you leave ar?? what type of service is this??!?!?
kekekeke :D
anyway, can easily tell them to come back later wan mar...
not a big issue.. ;)

yeah.. the full drumstick = drumstick + thigh
it taste similar like the nasi lemak at Asia Cafe, but that's only RM5 compared to RM8.90 at JomBali... so we're actually paying for the environment.. ;)

i think we're paying more for the rent......at least it looks clean and its comfortable....i dont mind paying for the price...

I was there couple of days ago, saw ppl using laptops & asked the waiter, "Ada free WIFI Ke?", waiter replied, "Ada". So, I sat down, ordered nasi lemak & swithed on my laptop, the only free WIFI my laptop picked up was Timezone, which was from next door, Starbuck, hah...Anyway, the nasi lemak not bad, at least it is better than those at Old Town Kopitiam. :) Will go bk there for makan & "free WIFI" again.. :D

The premium toast is really an eye opener when the waiter brings it to the next table..
I'm looking forward to try it on my next visit there...
but it can be messy trying to eat it since the egg is halfboiled...

Went there again... Just realised it is under the permium toast category and it is called, brace yourself, "Eggs in the Face". So no need to sacrifice the shirt, only your face might kena....

had it with kokomo and kakilang today...
did you guys/gals notice right under the chicken ham, there's a missing part of the bread, forming sort of a well for the egg to rest (in case you don't do first contact with your face)?
its actually garlic bread using kopitiam bread with american breakfast concept of ham and egg... talk about fusion food!! definitely will go back for more..
I recommend the "Bergedil" (mashed potatoes with herbs and eggs) RM1.90.. served really fresh and hot with steam from within...
next on my list to try there, their curry laksa..

Yea, had it there just now. First time ever I tried such unique toast. Was about to suck the egg that time, suddenly it sanked right down thru my chicken ham. Anyway, it was nice but I won't crave for it all the time as it cost RM4.20 and I want to try next on their list will be the Jombali Nasi Lemak.
Look pretty appetizing from the menu and confirmed by Kakilang that it is nice. So I'll give it a try. ;) Oh oh .. I also ordered their special Jombali White Aroma Coffee. Its nice cos its not bitter and a lil sweet. And yeah, it keeps me awake till now.

Went there yesterday for dinner. Ordered the chicken hor fun & hot rich milk tea. The chicken hor fun is tasty but i feel thirsty. The hot rich milk is actually served before adding any sugar (so happen that the sugar is not on my table for me to add) & I ask for adding in some sweet condense milk/sugar as is bitter. All the staff there are foreign workers & I think they don't quite understand me & add in more tea for me
aiya..why not sunday yet....tinkerfy, the laksa is very good, dunno whether it suits ur taste but its sure suits mine.. :) there's one dish with dunno what sweet gravy....wanted to try actually but the 'sweet' word freaks me out... :)

Didn't realise about the well thing though. I had the chicken curry rice. Not bad, the curry was quite tasty. The sambal, pedas! My daughter had the soursop iceblended. They blend the real fruit, with the seeds as well. So must watch out for that.

I think they are Balinese people. hehehe ... well, I think they sound like it.
This place ah? Contrary to popular opinions here, I don't care so much for their food though.
I had their nasi lemak rendang, it tastes ok, the portion of beef rendang is not that large but just enough.
Egg in your face toast, my kid liked it but then again, it's just a gimmicky treat for kids.
Neitheir of us cared for Bergedil which is just a greasy piece of fried-mashed-potato.
Overall.. out of 5 stars... I give
taste **
food quality **
value of money **
service *
I don't see this place booming like another Uncle Lim's or Old Town Kopitiam anytime soon unless they can really improve upon their service, food consistency or offer more unique foods.

 same size as last time?
I been there more than 7 times, and I find them quite inconsistent..
sometimes got free toast, sometimes plain iced water is charged, sometimes nasi lemak is highly shaped, sometimes just a bowl shaped.. sometimes lots of pretty gals, sometimes dun have... :D

Ya, same size, they served on plate instead of bowl this time.
They r inconsistent, one time the curry gravy was thick, the other time it was diluted..... :(
