I'm not sure if i allowed to do this here, but my mom needs to hire a part time maid mainly doing the house chores on the weekdays (cleaning and clothes ironing also help to keep an eye on a baby while my mom went cooking) ... while she can have her eyes on her new born grandson), any recommendations please ?

OH .... actually is more like when my mom doing cooking, the PT maid can help to watch over the baby ... not really a baby sitter ..

My friends are using this non company/agency who is providing this part time maid services and it is like buying your products direct from distributor. They are charging RM 50 for a 3 hour service when the agency is charging double which you and I know 50% goes to the agency as management or middleman fees. The maid will do the cleaning and the washing and ironing but I am not too sure whether they offer the "keeping an eye on the kid" service. You can call 012 295 6354 and ask. Sorry I have forgotten the name. But my friends told me that they are reliable and trustworthy but in any case I also suggest you keep an eye on her too.

Come to think of it, Baby sitter could be another good solution huh ... any "come-in-to-our-house" baby sitter recommendations ???

call Monica 0146392135 for house cleaning and ironing. She was recommended by an usj forumer to us, sham. She is very good and reliable. Rates are reasonable too.

hey hey ... i think the person called in wasn't me, co'z i was looking at this company http://www.simplyclean.com.my/index.htm and it seems slightly expensive, but is not indon maid, (is local) and i also considering of hiring a "come in" baby sitter in the mean time, not sure it will be cheaper?

Getting a part-time maid is kinda pretty risky business. My mum has gone thru a few and mebbe it's her luck, these maids seems to do more damage than clean-up. They're pretty rough and are very adept at putting things that they break in the original manner, which you won't notice until after they leave and you inspect the stuff. :p

Hi mlkok - I do agree with you . But it can happen to us also when we are doing the cleaning - so instead to just blame them , then the kids , then gran pa , grand ma , all person in the hse.....but to blame the maid is the easy way out and fast.....n cut the allowance's too for the damage just to make it look serious.

So far me n my fren have no problem with them

Shamy - can e mail pls / PM me

p/s : Just a tot - have u seen this scenario in any reataurant? The maid running around chasing 3 kids up and down & all over the restaurant. The kiddos parent give no qualm in it but just keep on chowing on the food like there is nothing happening at all.

we know of this part time maid.... a chinese auntie in her 50's. she is not bad... cleans well n responsible, even tho she is a bit rough n can oni speak cantonese.... but at least she is trustworthy. she is d type dat u can just give ur spare key to n she will come n clean n wash, n then let herself out n lock up after she has completed everythin.... her cost is higher than an indonesian maid but then most local maids r.... if u wun her contact no, just pm me.
