Arwen, nice photo u took. Din know Kashmir has so nice scenery.. Heard only from my teacher during school days that the ladies there very pretty:D (True onot?) Been to Chennai and surrounding areas. Will be going to Kerala soon. Hope one day can also visit Kashmir. Btw, is it Indian or Pakistan part of Kashmir? Thnx again for the nice pictorial scenery. Keep it coming:)

actuali, these picz r taken wit my p&s.... cuz initially i wuznt sure whether it wuz safe 2b carryin a huge dSLR around.... later found out, it iz actually quite safe. in fact, itz safer in kashmir tn in other partz of india like delhi, agra, or jaipur....

d boatman who took us to n fro d houseboat n mainland every day in his shikara (kinda like a gondola). he is dressed in d traditional kashmiri costume called faran.

1st meal in kashmir taken on board d houseboat.... consisted of a hot tiffin lunch... curry chicken wit potato, cauliflower masala, dhal curry, n white rice.... :)

notice d metal barrel-like structure in d middle of d room? it's an old wood stove.... d pipe-like contraption is some sort of chimney where d smoke passez thru....

d old wood stove is oso where d kettle of water is boiled, d bread is toasted, etc....

u can find such furnishingz in india or bali.... seriously, transportatn it back fr bali would be cheaper tn from india tho....

alternatively, some teakwood furniture companiez in msia do import it....

n yeap, we did have an enjoyable time in kashmir, india.... d only thing dat spoilt d trip wuz d airlinez (a local carrier indian airlinez (http://indian-airlines.nic.in/index.asp) which iz not air india) n havin to transit at delhi international airport.... (but datz another story 4 another thread.... ) so wil stick 2 sharin photoz here... ;)
