Beauty Killed The Beast (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmsmghnUviI) (great music score by James Newton Howard)
The Americans are heartless aren't they? Killed a big gorilla like that. :P

Awesome music score no doubt but the scene makes me sick. Why kill an innocent gorilla? The one who should be killed is Jack Black (as in his character in the movie).
The Piano (1993) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dPS-EHl-FE&mode=related&search=) is one of my favourite movies. The theme "The Promise (The heart asks for pleasure first)" by Michael Nyman is one of the best loved piano pieces.
If one wants to see truly good acting, just watch Hollie Hunter in this movie.
It is the mid-nineteenth century. Ada is a mute who has a young daughter, Flora. In an arranged marriage she leaves her native Scotland accompanied by her daughter and her beloved piano. Life in the rugged forests of New Zealand's South Island is not all she may have imagined and nor is her relationship with her new husband Stewart. She suffers torment and loss when Stewart sells her piano to a neighbour, George. Ada learns from George that she may earn back her piano by giving him piano lessons, but only with certain other conditions attached. At first Ada despises George but slowly their relationship is transformed and this propels them into a dire situation..

Yup. That is why gorillas should not go to New York or Hollywood. :) Jack Black is so nasty in that role, but you know, sometimes the bad guy wins. :(
But I love Naomi Watts in this movie. Luv her somersaults and juggling for Kong, he would let out a big yawn and pushes her away pretending to be bored whenever she does that, but when they sit side by side watching the sunset, he would totally melt.
And it was very sad when he plunged down the Empire State building..

But I love Naomi Watts in this movie. You can say that again. Luved her in the movie and luved her on The Tonight Show. What an angel. :)

Haven't watched that movie. What is it about Sugarfree if you don't mind? I have watched her in Ring 1 & 2, The Assassination of Richard Nixon and if I remember correctly, she had a voice impersonator part in Babe, Oink! in the city.
At a quick glance, she looks a little like Nicole Kidman to me. Both are really pretty and talented.
I think I get it now, you mean The Tonight Show with Jay Leno? Too bad I missed that.

That song is truly a gem Sugarfree, thanks!
ONJ has been a favourite of mine for as long as I can remember, luv all her songs, movies and she really is an inspiration to many. She is an amazing woman.
Am being reminded of the musical/movie Xanadu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CM6y_fM9QSE), watched it like 3 times when I was a kid and am still keeping a copy of that album in my collection.

This will be a movie I definitely wouldn't wanna miss. Music & Lyrics (http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809276825/info)
It's always refreshing to watch Drew Barrymore, her baby face hasn't changed much way back from E.T. till now. She has this appeal in her that I really like, someone beautiful who will always be young at heart. Hugh Grant and her makes an odd pair but both has their charms and I believe the movie is going to be witty and movingly romantic. Take a peep, you'll luv it, the movie's not released in our cinemas yet, I think.

I liked this movie, and I thought that all the actors, Nicholas Cage especially, did a marvellous job as John, one of the cops caught under the rubble for endless hours while trying to search for victims. This movie is intended as a tribute to those who lost their lives in the attacks on 9/11 2001, and all those brave souls who died trying to save them.

We don't have to own or lose a dog in order to like this movie (http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/upload/showpost.php?p=124560&postcount=1) , we just have to be compassionate human beings with basic emotions...
The best movie for me in 2006, it ripped my heart to pieces and drained me out emotionally, not only for the reason that I love dogs, but for the fact that it is based on a true story. Even if it wasn't based on a true story, it would still make my heart ache. Not only did Old Jack and Dewey died in the bitter cold antartic winter but there were actually 15 dogs, 7 died and 6 unaccounted for in real life. Only 2 were known to have survived...All the dogs were so amazing, they were loyal, bonding and trusting but betrayed and left to die. But in the movie, it was a relief that Paul Walker did reunite with the remaining dogs. The 6 dogs that survived were Maya (barely survived), Max, Buck, Shadow, Shorty and Truman.

Adrien Brody shines in The Pianist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pianist_(memoir)) , it is a brilliant movie, touching, yet gruesome and not for the faint hearted. :) The movie enfolds around the lives of the Jews in Poland during the German Nazi regime around the period of 1941~45. Did they suffer terribly, they were tortured in unimaginable ways and all their rights as human beings were stripped off in an instant. Brody is Wladyslaw Szpilman, a virtuoso pianist who was separated from his family and deported to the concentration camp where he witnessed dozens of grisly killings and corpses, however, he was fortunate as he avoided death and escaped.
In this scene, which is the most compelling scene for me, you'll see a kind German officer Wilm Hosenfeld, who had discovered Szpilman in his hiding place in this bombed house earlier, who then brought him food and water and gave him his German coat to keep him warm, being moved tremendously as he listens attentively to the pianist's brilliant performance. It felt like a dark moment of kindness and desperation.
Solo piano of The Pianist Movie ~ Ballade no.1 in G minor op.23 composed by Chopin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ng-OT-Mkn3A)
One funny moment tho, when the soviets finally arrived to save Poland, Szpilman was coming down the stairs excitedly forgetting that he was wearing the German coat, being surrounded by the soviet troops and when they saw him, they wanted to shoot him. That line by one of the soviet troop was funny. :P A must see movie, already out on DVD.
I can't believe I found this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bR_spejo6IA&mode=related&search=) and this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BO0fmkSA80o) on youtube. One of the most exciting and exhiliarating scenes in the movie. I bought the dvd but it was not clear at all :( Astro has aired this umpteen times a couple of years back.
Anyway, hope you peeps enjoy watching this, the fantastic piano duel between Jelly Roll Morton (the action one) and Danny Boodmann T. D. Lemons Nineteen Hundred (Tim Roth).
Watch out for the cigarette scene at the end. :P

This is quite unlike any other movies, the locations, make-ups, costumes, hair styles, body-art, the gloomy score which I think is great, and all the actors and actresses in it are unknown, well, at least to me. The acting was really good tho I find it almost nauseating to watch the gruesome, sadistic, human sacrificing scenes.
Not so sure about the "facts" presented by director Mel Gibson in this movie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apocalypto) , but it is remarkably made, and it kinda stays in your head for a while. It could well perhaps be another Gibson's masterpiece.
In this movie, the lost civilization, the Mayans, are depicted as cruel, brutal, blood thirsty and so mad. Lotsa dramatic and heart-thumping moments, as Rudy Youngblood "Jaguar" runs for his life into the jungles.. While watching this movie, one would feel so fortunate to be right here right now in this part of the world, and not there, ever.

it's an OK movie but quite bloody especially the sacrifices part... they cut off the head and throw it down the steps...
Yup, in this movie (dunno how true it is) the 'priests' (who seemed so obsessed with blood) called the shots. In order to change the mood of their gods, slaves were bought to be sacrificed, hearts dug out and heads chopped off and thrown down the temple stairs. They also encouraged 'self mutilation :eek:to furnish blood as an appointment to religious purposes. Those were their beliefs la. Read somewhere that they also believed that the world was flat. Those were the days.
Remember the game they played using humans as their bow targets? They let the humans run for their lives, but they get killed anyhow, even if they succeeded in running out of that court. Very bad and spoilsports. That big man (the elite one can't remember his name) could kill so many but when his son got killed, he became so monstrous. That was the beginning to the Jaguar chase into the jungles which totally kept me glued to the seat. :P
Found this pic of the temple with the long staircase.
I believe many have watched this movie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Green_Mile_(film)). I just realized that it is based on a story by Stephen King. Very sick that sissy looking guy who stepped on the little mouse, but miraculously, the big guy brought it back to life! That is the scene I luv the most. It was terrifying but awesome, when he opens his mouth each time after saving someone or something and all the insect-looking bunch would swarm out! Big guy was perfect for the role, just seeing his teary eyes made me wanna cry :( He just wanted to help but put on the death row instead. The ending is so sad, which is also shown in this video.

Just watched 88 Minutes starring Uncle Al Pacino. He has definitely come of age but still so suave and charming. And in this movie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scent_of_a_Woman), for Uncle Al to dance the tango like that with that straight look on his face is not easy eh. He is blind, but in this breathtaking scene, he owns it all, the tango, the beautiful music, the girl (Gabrielle Anwar) in his arms. :P
This is the same music used in Schindler's List, and an episode in the hit tv series Nip/Tuck, Por Una Cabeza, which means in Spanish "by a head (of a horse)"

Hey Chin Wan, I'm glad you took the trouble to look out for this movie. I bought 2 supposedly 'original' VCD copies but neither were clear and they did not have any DVD versions then. Guess I have to look out for the DVD soon.
Another reason I loved this movie so was for it's setting that was done entirely on and around an ocean liner, but I could not remember the name of that ship. Anyways, the soundtrack was simply beautiful. Gorgeous and haunting in actual fact. But yet, for all the beautiful music 1900 has made on that luxury liner, and not even for the love he felt for the immigrant girl, could ever make him leave the ship, how sad, well..except for once, almost.
I remember watching this movie (http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ne9XZOYPoJc) seated at the end of the very front row in the cinema :P
It might sound crazy but it was worth it. Probably one of the best movies ever made in the nineties, the story kicks of with a recreation of pre-historical beasts from DNA fragments and some smart scientist placing them in an island's theme park and so the story goes etc etc...one day, another bad scientist sabotages all systems on island, thereon we have all kinds of well kept dinosaurs, big, very big, to very huge, escaping and running amok. That is what we'll get when some smart alec tries to play God. ;)
I loved the special effects and very tensed moments when dinosaurs went crazy chasing humans and chomping on them :P I think it was quite rare for a movie like that to be made that appealed to both young and old. If I could remember, the sequels to the first Jurassic Park (3 or 4 of them I think) were equally good.

oh yes, that scene when man on toilet seat was 'discovered' by T-Rex..was easily memorable :P Poor guy, got eaten up as well.
Who cares about storyline anyway when watching a Martin Lawrence movie. :P He was so funny as Big Momma, I totally lol at the scene in which he brought the kids out to the beach :P..He was terribly humongous but still felt so err..alluring. :P:P:P
I really like his acting, being a big momma wasn't so easy but he stayed in his character all the time, well, altho it wasn't the funniest movie of all times and it had some childish lines, nevertheless, it was a good family movie to watch and entertaining. And yes, watch the adorable cutie pies cheer-leading, with Big Momma :P
Enjoy! (http://youtube.com/watch?v=6YGahHjjiwg)
Sounds like an easy task right? Wait till you watch this movie, if you haven't, please do so, you will not regret it trust me! :P Watch who's hunting who..
Plot: 2 brothers inherited a run down string factory and a huge mansion from their late father. And..a very short, old piece of string hehe..And so, (fast forward) both moved into the house and inside, they discovered an 'intruder'..a mouse! :P This mouse, was really a gutsy lil fella and so very smart, probably becos the 2 brothers were not so smart themselves and got outsmarted at every angle! The mouse' antics were hilarious and the brothers were really very funny too. Little did they know, the string, the lauya piece of string that their father left for them? Holds the key to their future..lol! with the mouse. :P
