anyone has used or knowledge of the 'aquafree' brand water filter?. I have installed them externally for almost two weeks now, and when i do the backwash, the water is still very clean even after a whole week. something is wrong here, as my neighbour water filter(different brand) will be showing very dirty water after a few days?. is there some installation problem, or what?

surprisingly, no one is using this brand   ...i am having problem and worry that the tank might be empty?. The contractor came and checked on it and say there is no problem. He doesn't have the answer why the water is still very clean? ...compared to my neighbours water which is so dirty after a few days when doing backwash?. Could it be that they forgotten to put the sand inside?. Or maybe I should ask them to take it back and try different brand.

never heard of this brand..
perhaps you can ask the contractor to send some technical ppl to do a "post mortem" on the filter just to see what's in there...
lots of "copy cats" of brands selling these filters..

Can anyone recommend a good water filter ?
We can't decide whether to get a filter for the whole house (eg. washing, bathing, and etc ) use or specifically for drinking and cooking ? What are the pros and cons ?
Perhaps someone can give some insights .
Don't know where to begin ?

We had used Diamond (drinking and cooking) for a couple of years as we don't think Syabas is doing a good job. We are moving to a new home (now under renovation) and had decided to add the external water filter also.

Currently, there is a promotion by Diamond- buy one get one free.

I'm not sure of other brands, but I heard Amway's water filter is also good.

Yes, I have seen "Diamond" everywhere :D .
Hard to ignore it but I am really worried that it is too commercialize, and may not be so good and quite expensive ?
This thing about "magic" water, is it a filter system ?
Amway also I heard is good and pretty expensive.
Okey, I guess I want something not very expensive....at least value for money.
Is the "Diamond" water really that good ?
Eeer, since you have been using"diamond" water for quite some time now, can your stomach take normal filtered or unfiltered water ?
Drinks purchased outside ?

"Magic water"? No la.....!! If it is that good, all the doctors will even recommend it, hahaha.

We only decided to use the "more expensive" filter system when our child was born. You know la, 1st time parents, semua takut. And with all the news of "not so clean" water in Selangor, we decided to "eat bread" everyday, to be able to afford it.... :(.

Does it really works?? I don't know (I'm no expert...) but it does filter lots of "dirt or mud or something". It does make us feel better of the water we drink at home :D

Outside water? Hmm..... no problem to the stomach (touch wood...).

Now have to "eat bread" again as we are getting the external one.... :(

"magic water" because as claim by those people embarking into selling this water, diamond water doesn't have "air bubbles" trap, so when you drink the water you won't feel full? Supposedly good for skin too. Hearsay....something like that :D
So this diamond water is just like any other filtered water? Why call it Diamond water instead of Diamond filter ?
Are you sure you want to use high quality water to clean your house and laundry ? Is it necessary ?Money use to buy healthy food is better and they don't come cheap this days. Sigh

I tested the water quality using a borrowed device . The device is used by a reputable eater filter supplier in testing water quality. Do not know what it measures but I tested 3 sources within my house. I installed the el chepo paper type filter after the meter and RO (also cap ayam) at the sink tap.
source 1 ; after external filter
sourcce 2 : from water tank
source 3: RO water.

The highest reading (most contaminated) is the water tank's
Source 1 was slightly cleaner.
RO water was 100 times cleaner than other 2 . This is the source of drinking water so it is what mattered most.

Everyone knows that Amway water treatment system won many years of the best water treatment system voted by consumer choice in the reader digest award. Somemore got 3 certification by NSF. Check out www.nsf.org to see that it does do what it suppose to do.... clean water so we can safely drink from the tap. no need to boil.

my kids used to fall sick all the time, until we got this system. Clean water is essential for family health and they hardly fall sick now. it is retail at RM3625 and I am selling at RM1500. This is my own personal unit and am upgrading to the new system they are launching next month. so want to sell off this unit which is in perfect working condition with 2 mths old filter and UV bulb.

call me on 0123885530 if interested. RM1500 only and can use credit card for payment.

have not being to nsf.org for a long time. just tried and check out the certification. click here for search by manafacturers http://www.nsf.org/Certified/DWTU/

Type in "access business group" as that is the business name in US for Amway. Got 2 products, one is called e-spring and the other is E3411. I am upgrading to espring. got a great price for my espring too. :) but those want to buy my personal unit at RM1500, call me lah.

Can try to type diamond, elken, etc and see whether got certification under nsf or not. :)

If your backwash is pure water, must be a miracle. Subang water clean? Me thinks your installer might have relayed wrongly the water flow.
Myself, im using Elken POE outside and biopure inside for drinking. EXPENSIVE, but excellent quality and service. If u need a contact for this brand, let me know.

for overall water filteratn, we've been using liv-well for abt 3 yrs.... n its good.... backwash is easy 2 do oso. they can install at d mains or inside d unit (for condos n apts). cost is between rm1-2k n its quite large.

previously, was using bacfree but just at d kitchen tap.... it is not bad. cost is between rm100-rm200. still have it now... since d cost is minimal so not worth to dismantle....

we actually installed d bacfree wun for drinkin water in d kitchen, since shiftin in more than 3 yrs ago.... but later realized dat an overall filter is required cos we dun wanna bathe, wash clothes, brush teeth with brownish water comin outta our bathroom taps n showers either!

if d water is really bad n u wanna be doubly sure, then just use both types....

anyways, if u wun any of d supplier contacts, just give me a shout.

Use a good backwash system/external water purification system which can cost you about 4-6K .. I mean good ones made from real good stuff. My dad got this really good one from a company in Germany that is producing these backwash systems for Malaysia Airlines - specifically for their Maintenance Hangars in KLIA which are superbly good. The only downside is that if you have high pressure water coming in to your house from external pipes which gives your bathroom high pressure water flow, using the backwash "MAY" reduce the pressure. Of course you can always install an additional water pressure pump system for that added power flow during your showers.

And as for water purification as in for drinking, you can either get those Alkaline water purification system which is good for your body as your body requires alot of alkaline instead of acid and alkaline mixed water.

For alkaline water, you may try Panasonic Alkaline Purification System

For R.O water, you can try Delcol/DelCol Water system. I'm currently using them which is good for me and I have seen some companies such as eGenting, Malaysia Airlines, True Fitness Gym and Skychef using them too.

DAIMOND IS SUCKS!!!!

THEIR FILTERING SYSTEM IS GOOD BUT THE GUARANTEE IS LOUSY.

bought daimond spa for shower and diamond for drinking water. less than one year, convertor of diamond drinking water system failed to convert between filtered water and normal pipe water. Tot there's guarantee but have to pay like 200++ to fix the damn bloody thing.
then one week later, during changing the diamond spa Vitamin C catridge, the shower head broken. I bought this under installment. pay 60 every month. Diamond suppose to guarantee for the part but the technician say due to many customers misused the part and it got broken often, Diamond can not guarantee for the part anymore. What the hell. I end up paying another 100++. Who to be blamed for the lousy quality of the part??? It is merely manufacturer default!!!.

Warn all Diamond water filter user please!!!!! )))))))))))))))))

Don"t get cheated......

I am also a diamond product user. So far so good. My diamond dealer always keep in touch with me about the products.

I think you should contact your diamond dealer or NEP customer service (603- 8948 1688) for your complaint.

For my opinion. any water filter system can accepatable. Please do survey each brand before make decision. Each brands have their pro and cons.
1) For Amway, I heard the dirt always stuck and less water flow out. Beside, It is using UV light and the light bulb is expensive because easy break.

2) For Rocket, itself have a lot of layer sand. But it cannot filter oil because in between the sands still have tiny hole. After 10 years change sands, but nobody wait after 10 years because damn dirty inside even use 1 year.

3) For Delco, it begin filter from your outside main water pipe and then water flow inside house. It is clean, but should not filter chlorine at main pipe. Don't forget government put chlorine is for killing bacteria. If your tangki without chlorine, the bacteria will grow because the tangki always store water.

4) For distilled water and RO water are worst. It is acidic (PH number is ~5.5 and without mineral) and our body need alkaline (~7.2). We need to eat a lot of alkaline food to neutralize the acidic (meat). If your body become acidic, it might take the mineral from your body to neutralize. Please find the website which I reseach.

5) For Boil water, is called dead water because without Oksigen. Our cell tissue need it.

Guys, need your help on the kitchen top water filter. I'm am aware that there are plenty of brands out there. Basically I'm looking at Bacfree BS-1. It has only 1 filter. I'm no expert in this and need help. It costs about RM700, the filter + housing. Anyone out there who owns this filter, care to share your experience? :)

Hi all,

I'm in the market of getting a POE and POU water filter. My philosophy is:

POE - Normal Sand or Membrane will do the trick of filtering the dirt. Keypoint is the service and maintenance there. How often having to replace the medium? If calling for service, how's the service?

POU - This is more critical(where the money should go) as that's what go into our body. RO water? Multi-filter type? Some 3 filters, some even 6 filters. UV light?

So far i have found most of the brand that will meet the above criteria are normally costly. BacFree, Hydroguard, Amway are among the high price filter. As POE, I don't see the need to spend 3k for it. Hence I'm looking at WaterCo, WateQ, Delcol..etc. These are all thousand plus filters. But Service wise, I need some help from you all if you are using them.

Actually, i'm seriously considering WateQ which currently runs at RM1888(POE filter(membrane type with autoflush using timer), POU(6 filters with Carbon, ceramic, mineral stone...etc) plus free Rubine water heater). Price wise, I don't think anybody can beat that. Service is my concern. Thinking of testing their service by calling them.

Any thought and comment?

Amway is expensive , everyone knew it. Reason is that is direct sales.
Diamond / Nesh / Dr Sukida they all is OEM. That some factory manufacturing the product and those Diamond they all stick their sticker on it only. They don't have any research center to innovate a better technology etc.
My ex company using Coway water filter in office. I enjoy it very much till I keep recommend my current company to buy the same filter :)
if your office having own pantry, i highly recommend you may try it. since is rental basic. if don't like it can ask them to remove it~ but MUST TRY

Expensive because there is a reason. I'm using amway water filter and I'm also an amway member. Amway water filter is backed by 20 yrs of research and developed by many scientists and engineer and its patented so that other manufacturer cannot copy it. It also boldly enough to come out with test report from NSF/WQA which I did not see in other water filter.

You can go to http://www.nsf.org/Certified/DWTU/Listings.asp? and look

Amway also has its own factory for the water filter which know as Access Business Group. So piyopiyo statement about its being expensive because its direct sales is not true. Its expensive because its a lamborghini type water filter. Frankly speaking I did not see any other water filter that has such credential. Pipoyo,Coway water filter is nothing compare to amways one.

Anyone wanted more details can pm me.

Mozartcova,

I just joined and found your thread. So, what did you finally buy? I am looking for one too and have been searching and evaluating almost every brand I could find. I'm thinking of buying Wateq. I'm wondering if you have made the same decision and also if others have use Wateq and what is their experience? Thanks.

I am closing this thread because too many people are making use of it to advertise their own direct sales items.
