Probably the kiosk at Pusat Bandar Damansara office. My friend just renewed her passport recently and it sounded fairly hassle-free.

You just need to bring your photos, RM300, MyKad and your old passport. Use your MyKad to verify your details and deposit the rest into the machine. You may collect your new passport at the counter the next day.

The kiosk can get quite popular with those seeking for a faster alternative... either way, there will be lotsa waiting to do at the counters or outside the kiosk... so try to be early or pick a non-school holiday season to go...

Yeah the kiosk is great. A friend today took all of 11 minutes (and that included giggling at the passport photograph that she had). Very hassle free. Plus, when you go collect it, you don't have to queue with the masses. There's a counter specifically for kiosk collections. Just take a number & join a MUCH shorter queue.

Take your pic at the Fuji photo shop on the main road in the same row as the Pizza Hut and Starbucks outlets. It costs RM10 for 4 passport prints (as far as I can remember) plus a floppy disk of the digital image. This is the best shop. Do not do it at the outlets near the immigration because they are out for a fast buck and they do not provide the digital image for future reprints.

Depends on whether you *want* future prints. *haha* The photo I took was so ugly, I formatted the diskette. But at least got free diskette as part of the package ah.

umm, at the Wangsa Maju branch, you can even get your passport on the same day... so saves you the hassle of going there again the next day to collect.

If you can wait, it seems that they are going to implement the 2 hour renewal process in all immigration branches soon, probably within the next 6 months. Thus, no need to go all the way to Wangsa Maju.

Umm ... I drove there, with the directions given by a friend who lives around there. According to her, it's quite near to the LRT station but you will need to take a cab from the LRT station to the place.

Umm, I cant remember the address of the complex now. Perhaps you can surf the imigration dept's website for the address.

I think all the branches now can issue out the passport in 2 hours+.
I did mine for my sons last Thursday at Sham Alam, I was shock with the crowd there in the morning. Queue for 1 hr+ just to get the number & was told to come back at 2 p.m. Get my sons' passport application done at 2.45 p.m. and was told to come back at 4.45 p.m.to collect it if I want to collect on the same day. Manage to get the passport at about 5.20 p.m.

My friend also did his passport last Friday within the same day. He went at 7.30am and by the time got the number it was stamped to come back at 2.45pm and he got his passport before 4pm! but of course he explained to the officer (I think higher officer) that he's got to go back to the USA on Monday with airplane ticket shown. I think they are very efficient now. Imagine by July we could renew online and collect the next day. Way to go !

Err buddies...Orchi brought the whole family to the Subang Terminal 2 Immigration office on 21st Feb...the 4th day of CNY.

Orchi had expected to anticipate a large crowd previously...so Orchi brought them there by 06:30am in the early morning.

By the time we got there...we were 2nd in the queue line to obtain the necessary forms...n later went in to have the pictures taken...n documents photocopied.

Little did we realized that by the time Orchi had to return back to the queue to obtain call nos....the line had stretch long with more than 200 folks waiting in line to do the same.

By the time Orchi got the call nos...n paid the cashier...it was already about 13:00pm...we were told to return by 16:00pm to pickup our passports.

We then had our late lunch...n by the time we got back at 16:00pm...the passports were not ready yet.

We were only able to collect them around 5:00pm...after about 10 hours!

So much for the "NEW passport in 2+ hour" trumpet by the authority...

Oh btw...Orchi saw many of Warga Emas(above 55 year old)...who managed to obtain theirs within 4 hours in all.
