:p Hello everybody....

I am new to this forum... Just moved into USJ (somwhere near Taipan) a year ago and I am lovin' it. This town has everything within its vicinity- hypermarkets (Giant & Carrefour), cinema(Summit), shopping centres (Subang parade, Sunway Pyramid) wholesale markets (USJ1), business centres, food court (Asia Cafe), eateries, schools and colleges, good roads/flyovers, gardens.... what else did I miss...

Before moving here, we stayed in Segambut. It was a brave move as USJ is considered very far as I work in KL and still do. After comparing the houses in KL and the ones in USJ, we found a lot of difference. The air is definitely cleaner here than KL. Even the people here are different. Neighbours are much friendlier. It was a wise choice to move here. :)

I still have a lot to learn about USJ. I just learnt where Sekolah Wawasan is today. Btw, when do we need to register if we want to send our child there? January?

Also want to know where the best dim sum is, or bak kut teh, or noodles, seafood etc etc... or where the library is, or swimming pool, or future development, warehouse sale? Anything happening in and around USJ would interest me...

Hope to learn more about USJ through this forum. :p

Hi Welcome on board....

You have asked so many questions... I also don't know how to answer you. There are "cari makan" section where you can post or find postings on food,etc... there is also a post known as Warehouse Sale where a dear forumer of USJ always update us on the upcoming warehouse sales... spend sometime to explore this forum.

Register at the school - there are 3 schools in Wawasan - Chinese Malay and Tamil - make sure you choose the correct school.

There is a hypermedia library run by the MPSJ. It is located in the corner shoplot just behind the big mosque in USJ9

Swimming pool is at the 3K complex located on Jalan Kewajipan between the Summit and Metropolitan College round-about next to the low-cost flats.

For food please browse the "cari makan" channel. Did you know we also have a editorial on food by Patrick? Please find the link (under Leisure) in the centre column of our website's front page. Just get into any of the titles and you will find the link to the archives. This is really good for food lovers because Patrick is a gourmet with good connections ;)

For warehouse sales, we have a thread on warehouse sales in this forum - look for it.

Do read the "About this forum" channel (top listing in the forum menu page) and in the welcome lounge, look for my thread on "For newbies"

And finally, if you want to meet the regular forum members, check out our thread on Teh-Tarik gathering (fondly called TT) - we hold that on the First Friday night of every month. Time anytime between 8:30pm to 11:00pm located usually at Syed's Bistro which is behind the goodyear court flats (actually facing Goodyear Court 3). Enter from Jalan Kewajipan where the Metro bus station is located.

Welcome, you picked a great suburb to live in.

I will find some time to browse around the forums to check out the happenings in and around our "hometown"... :) Need to familiarize with the website also, as I dont even know how to edit profile... :) :o

Umm... I think I want to register with the Dato' Onn Jaafar school, the Kebangsaan primary school. Any idea when they are open for registration for 2002 child?

The "Leisure" editorial (not forum) is found here (http://www.usj.com.my/) - the title is "Eating Out with Patrick" - you need to scroll down the screen keeping an eye out for the title in the central column of the 3-column page.

The Forum discussions on our TT-sessions are at the Chatterbox sub-forum under the "micro e-communities" channel. It is known as 1st Friday Teh Tarik Session - All are Welcome (http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/upload/showthread.php?t=5204)
