I make my own Xmas Roast chicken with bread mushroom stuffing.. recipe is simple..
Sorry folks..I HATE turkey meat!.

1 chicken.
McCormicks chicken seasoning..srpinkle lots of it, raba raba all over and leave overnight in fridge. Roast next day at 350 degrees F in convection oven..Sure finger licking good!.
Option: Either buy ready made stuffing or make own (tons of stuffing recipe can be found on internet..so get stuffed!)

Eat with roast potatoes, carrots, boiled brocolli,..maybe own made coleslaw..YUMMY!..

Sauce: Gravox instant gravy sauce.. all these can get at Cold Storage Subang or Giant.!
Pic below is what I had last year..the roast chick is on RHS.

Merry Xmas folks!.

Why turkey lah?.. Roast lamb, roast beef or roast chicken?..much cheaper than turkey.... Turkey tastes good if freshly slaughtered. Frozen turkey is not so tasty lah.
There's a wholesaler near Jalan Tandang PJ, selling frozen leg of lamb and other halal meats, better quality cuts and cheaper than supermarket..perhaps s'mart also get from them.

Yep, I make my own stuffing..quite easy..sort of a bread crumb mix, biscuit crumbs, diced button mushrooms (whatever u want), chopped beef bacon, salami, bologna (whatever) maybe bits of sausages, and seasoned with McCormicks chicken seasoning, pepper, sugar to taste, corn flour to stiffen it, make into a dough and STUFF IT!..Voila! No HOTEL can beat mine!..and cheaper than packed one from supermart..
Sorry, I don't eat pork stuff, so what i make is all halal.

I can't wait for X'mas joy!.. :D

Halal is more than just pork free. It is the way the food product is processed and store. Anyway I saw at an other hypermart frozen turkey at RM15 per kg, lots cheaper than at Jusco MidValley. At my home we only eat turkey once a year at X'mas eve dinner. Other months we do have roast duck, roast lamb, roast beef or roast chicken!
Last year we didn't cook any but bought from MrHo's, the turkey was quite good except bit dry & very expensive.
Roasting turkey is very easy, just thaw it, then properly follow the instruction to roast it. So this year we are back to roasting it ourselves.
Long time ago we use to have fresh turkey, err...like we have to catch it ourselves but I remember it to be tough like rubber band. :D Nowadays with the imported bird from US, no matter how it is roasted it always comes out ok.
@bslee - Thanks for the stuffing tip, will try it out. :)

DK Cafe in Sec.17 recommended before in the cari makan session do have roast turkey as well. It priced at RM150 per bird with stuff and need 3 days advance booking. You may call Karen Chong 017-8898103. Personally I have not tried their turkey before.
I'm in the midst of decorating my Christmas tree and have just put up the X'mas wreath :p Merry Christmas everyone!

Rest assured, I've got sufficient reason to fully justify my personal declaration of halal food from my kitchen.

There's surely lots of recipes from the internet. I usually re-invent the recipe from a few good recipes.

Received this on my email and would like to share it. Just a gentle reminder on what Christmas is about.

"Letter From Jesus"

Dear loved ones,

As you well know, we are getting closer to my birthday. Every year there is a celebration in my honor and I think that this year the celebration will be repeated. During this time there are many people shopping for gifts, there are many radio announcements, TV commercials, and in every part of the world everyone is talking that my birthday is getting closer and closer.

It is really very nice to know, that at least once a year, some people think of me. As you know, the celebration of my birthday began many years ago. At first people seemed to understand and be thankful of all that I did for them, but in these times, no one seems to know the reason for the celebration. Family and friends get together and have a lot of fun, but they don't know the meaning of the celebration.

I remember that last year there was a great feast in my honor. The dinner table was full of delicious foods, pastries, fruits, assorted nuts and chocolates. The decorations were exquisite and there were many, many beautifully wrapped gifts. But, do you want to know something? I wasn't invited. I was the guest of honor and they didn't remember to send me an invitation. The party was for me, but when that great day came, I was left outside, they closed the door in my face .... and I wanted to be with them and share their table.

In truth, that didn't surprise me because in the last few years all close their doors to me. Since I wasn't invited, I decided to enter the party without making any noise. I went in and stood in a corner. They were all drinking; there were some who were drunk and telling jokes and laughing at everything. They were having a grand time. To top it all, this big fat man all dressed in red wearing a long white beard entered the room yelling Ho-Ho-Ho! He seemed drunk. He sat on the sofa and all the children ran to him, saying: "Santa Claus, Santa Claus" .. as if the party were in his honor!

At 12 Midnight all the people began to hug each other; I extended my arms waiting for someone to hug me and ... do you know ... no one hugged me. Suddenly they all began to share gifts. They opened them one by one with great expectation. When all had been opened, I looked to see if, maybe, there was one for me.

What would you feel if on your birthday everybody shared gifts and you did not get one? I then understood that I was unwanted at that party and quietly left.

Every year it gets worse. People only remember to eat and drink, the gifts, the parties and nobody remembers me. I would like this Christmas that you allow me to enter into your life. I would like that you recognize the fact that almost two thousand years ago I came to this world to give my life for you, on the cross, to save you. Today, I only want that you believe this with all your heart.

I want to share something with you. As many didn't invite me to their party, I will have my own celebration, a grandiose party that no one has ever imagined, a spectacular party.

I'm still making the final arrangements. Today I am sending out many invitations and there is an invitation for you. I want to know if you wish to attend and I will make a reservation for you and write your name with golden letters in my great guest book. Only those on the guest list will be invited to the party. Those who don't answer the invite, will be left outside.

Be prepared because when all is ready you will be part of my great party.

See you soon.

I Love you!

Jesus

P.S. Please share this message with your loved ones, before Christmas

Ahh...it is that time of the year again where people from all walk of life get busy shopping and decorating their house to celebrate Christmas. Some like to call it Yuletide or simply X'Mas. As a Christian, I have welcome it over the years gone by without actually questioning what it really mean. In fact most of us too is in the dark as to what Christmas really mean. Do you?

Well here is some site which I have found that goes to the heart of Christmas.
http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm.../xmas/celeb.htm
http://www.lasttrumpetministries.org/tracts/tract3.html
http://www.faithfreedom.org/oped/sina21224.htm

This is what the scripture wrote about Christmas tree. As the Bible clearly states in Jeremiah 10:2-4, "Thus saith the Lord, learn not the way of the heathen; and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven. For the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain. For one cutteth a tree out of the forest. The work of the hands of the workman with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold. They fasten it with nails and with hammers that it move not."

Well, it is not that I do not want to wish you a Merry Christmas this year or for that matter any other years, it is just that I find it hard to fathom the true origin of Christmas can be so different. I believe in the message of John 3:16 as to the reason of Christ's birth but not what Christmas stand for.

bugbear, thanks for those links.

I think it is not important what Christmas is, or the origin of Christmas. To most people, it is a Christian Celebration, even though there's no mention of the word `Christmas' in the Bible.

So maybe just let it be a day for believers to ponder on the Life of Christ and His Purpose.

For non believers, if they can consider it a day of joy and peace, then at least it's better than having another day of hatred and war.

To all true Christians this is what Christmas day means to them....well said in this Christmas Carol.

Hark the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Christ by highest heav'n adored
Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

The birth of Jesus Christ as per the Gospel of St Luke Chapter 2.

1 Now it happened in those days, that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be enrolled. 2 This was the first enrollment made when Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 All went to enroll themselves, everyone to his own city. 4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David; 5 to enroll himself with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him as wife, being pregnant.
6 It happened, while they were there, that the day had come that she should give birth. 7 She brought forth her firstborn son, and she wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 There were shepherds in the same country staying in the field, and keeping watch by night over their flock. 9 Behold, an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people. 11 For there is born to you, this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 This is the sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a feeding trough.” 13 Suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest, On earth peace, good will toward men.”

15 It happened, when the angels went away from them into the sky, that the shepherds said one to another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem, now, and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 They came with haste, and found both Mary and Joseph, and the baby was lying in the feeding trough. 17 When they saw it, they publicized widely the saying which was spoken to them about this child. 18 All who heard it wondered at the things which were spoken to them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these sayings, pondering them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, just as it was told them.

Christ came to bear our sins upon Himself that we have eternal life.

The Book of Isaiah Chapter 53:
3 He was despised, and rejected by men; a man of suffering, and acquainted with disease: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we didn’t respect him. 4 Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on him; and with his stripes we are healed.

True meaning of Christmas is to ask for forgiveness of our sins and return to God. May God bless all of us for a blessed Christmas.

You know, I find it sad that Dec 25 every year is a reason to celebrate but what type of celebration are we seeing here. The meaning of the day is totally lost to the occasion of merriment. Indeed I am not against people having fun and being merry but let it not at the expend of Christ. You see Christmas is actually Christ's Mass as celebrated long ago by the catholic. Catholic took this day from the pagan to celebrate Christ's Mass. Tell me what Christ's Mass mean to you literally?

Return to God's Pure and Ancient Ways This Christmas
"Times of ignorance God Wink at" Acts 17:30

Reason why we should not celebrate Christmas:-

1. Dec 25th is NOT the birthday of Jesus, it is the birthday of the Roman sun god and this polluted pagan feast is full of lawlessness, drunkenness, nakedness and partying. To celebrate this day means we are participating in this polluted festival.

2. Jesus Christ did not command us to celebrate His birth with any programmes or festivals but to remember HOW HE SUFFERED AND DIED FOR US SO THAT WE CAN FOLLOW HIS EXAMPLE.

3. Christmas was never celebrate by the church for the first 400 years of Christianity as they obeyed the Lord in not celebrating it and also God had not allowed anyone to know the exact time of the Savior's birth. It was added in by the Roman Catholic Church who call Christmas "Christ Mass."

4. The Roman Catholic Church wanted power and large numbers of people to be converted, so they allowed thousands of pagan to keep their pagan practices, including celebrating the birthday of their sun god. This is why Christmas is celebrated only 400 years later when Roman Catholism polluted true Christian beliefs.

5. The Romans used Dec 25th, the birthday of their sun god to torture Jews.

6. The spirit behind Christmas is satanic and deceptive - this is why the whole world are swept into celebrating Christmas. They even wish one another X'Mas because they do not want the word Christ in it.

7. If we continue on this pollution, we will lose God's power and blessings.

8. Polluted worship is the "sin of Jeroboam" who retain all outward trapping of worshiping Jehovah but was living in rebelion and pollution.

The right ways to use the holiday season given to us:-

1. If people call on us, USE THE TIME AND OPPORTUNITY TO WITNESS TO THEM, TO ENCOURAGE THEIR FAITH WITH YOUR TESTIMONIES AND TELL THEM THE TRUTH. Play a Christian VCD or pray for them.

2. Take advantage of cheap sales to buy gifts for the poor and send your extra bonus to needy ministry.

3. Use the holiday season to visit people in homes, in prisons and in hospitals.

4. Use the time for prayers and sharing meals with one another and pray for:-
- God's forgiveness on His people for not willing to obey and be seperated from pagan ways.
- The prosecuted church who is suffering and dying in prison.
- Christians who are sick, in bondage and backslidden from God.
- Our unsaved loved ones.

I think you nailed it there, bugbear. I fully agree with you that the world today celebrates Christmas erroneously thinking it is an exclusive Christian festival, whereas it never truely was.

But it is, right or wrong, for most of us, a time of Joy, Cheer, and Giving and Everything Nice, so let us have a merry x'mas anyway.
