Just wonder if the acting looks 'real' enough? Some Japanese horror movie looks very lousy.... how's this one?

The movie is different from the manga. Only the shinigami and the boy was based on it. The rest is add on. So it will have different ending from the manga.

This story got 3 main character only mar...
Ryuk the shinigami, Light owner of the death note and "L" guy eyebags the size of currypuffs...

usually they will put in some extra character just to spice the movie up a little..

been to singapore somewhere christmas and it's already showing there. I mean the deathnote 2.

I missed out on the part 1, will get it's dvd soon once released. Heard it was quite good.

Yes it's quite good. You see, I have very very BAD perception of Japanese movies after watching Dark Water and Ring O.... I am not sure why these movies are blockbusters in Japan - maybe they like slow moving pictures. However, Death Note is different.

Death Note was evenly paced and have enough character development to make the movie interesting. And IMHO, the Shinigami is the star of the movie!

All the different characters made the movie an interesting watch. Kudos to the director, Shusuke Kaneko, for bringout life to Japanese movies. Ganbate!

Just watch it yesterday in DVD and i have to say it was quite good. Somewhere around 3.5 stars. :)

I'm definately a supporter of Light (Kira)

Yeah I noticed Kira has a lot of fans.. both within the movie and out... especially among Japanese girls because of his cute chubby babyface hahaha.

Death Note 2 is also notable and a must-watch as it actually tells the story as a whole (I wont drop any spoilers here). New characters are brought into the story to complete the mind intriguing saga....and just as I mentioned earlier, the existing characters are equally well developed and all serves to complete the whole story...

I am begining to like Japanese movies.... :D
