After providing previews in the form of RC2 and RC3, the final FireFox 2 is released. Some of the features I'm personally liking is the built in Spell Checker, Session Restore and Live Bookmarks. It's the right time for non-FF users to make the switch, for starts you will find it any day faster than IE7 :)

Hey Mr.Mayur nice to hear that :) If you need increased speeds on your regular downloads you can get yourself a small download utility tool free from here http://www.download.com/Star-Downloader-Free/3000-2071_4-10346402.html
Best of all its integrated to work with FireFox ;) enjoy!

Thanks Ullas, will try that too =)
TiNkeRFY, Streamyx is zooming cuz of Deepa Raya Holidays. I'm afraid to say it'll go back to the same once the holidays are over. So better download all that you would want to. =)
I've tried FireFox on the Broadband and it works quite good, but when i tried it at my office with a tmnet dialup, MSIE wins the race of browsing..
Anyway that was just some feedback..
Cheers

hmm... i realised firefox is a little memory hungry...
uses more than 60mb of RAM with 2 tabs opened...
but the streaming (youtube) is really fast!!

hmm... i realised firefox is a little memory hungry...
uses more than 60mb of RAM with 2 tabs opened...
but the streaming (youtube) is really fast!!Well, I did a simple test comparison between FF2 and IE7 on memory usage. I opened 4 tabs in either browsers with the same websites in similar states at the same time.
The results of the memory usage test:
iexplore.exe - 88,780
firefox.exe - 73,552
I have never tried any other browser which is really lean on memory. I tried flock (http://www.flock.com/) for sometime, the images used to load at amazing speed on flock, but it was sucker on memory!

tried FF2 last week when it was announced as official release.
It almost gave me a massive heart attack when...
after upgrading, i notice all of my past bookmarks are missing! no search engine is displayed, can't add any also. Tabbed browsing doesn't work! can't close any of the tabs, all plug-in doesn't work too!! OMG!! It's a total nightmare...
First I thought could I be downloading the wrong version? or was it IE7 instead? :p after verifying the brand.. Yup! correct its Firefox, checking the version, version 2.0. And I swear I've downloaded it from Mozilla's website....
Anyway... after uninstall it completely, and re-install it again... Everything works perfectly!! :D Got all my bookmarks back, plug-in works... Feels like it's faster than previous version, more stable too, no more lagging when using internet mail like Gmail or Yahoo mail beta.
But.... still a memory monster
I guess some people upgrading from previous version might have encounter the rare glitch like mine  Anyway, after uninstall it and reinstall... shouldn't be any problem liaw... ;)
IE7 ar?? ha ha ha... I won't even waste my bandwidth to download and waste my time and try. :p

My RM0.02 on why FF > IE?
Extensions.
Man, I can't surf without AdBlock, DownThemAll, TMP and AiO Sidebar. They rule.
Try getting the same functionality from MS and IE.
