Then the last time I met you u must have been on platforms or something ??? :D
I almost asked u how's the weather up there, bro. :D

As for the topic, I suspect that it is true on all counts.
Hardly anyone wld admit it ........ but it does seem to happen around you.
Unfortunately, there is a fair amount of over-compensation as well emanating from the Vertically Challenged.

short or tall is not the issue. the main issue is your self-confidence..

how short is short by the way for both genders.

its not how tall or how short one is.... its what's inside that counts.... like the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover.

How come somebody here say you are 6 ft ? Who is bluffing ?

Unfortunately, it is true, girls go for tall guys. And they hire tall guys for CEOs and high position even though they are less capable. Most HR manager don't have much assessment power, and only see a person height and face !!!

many a time, i tailed car seemingly driven without a driver...and when i passed this 'driverless' car, only then did i see a bob of a head, just slightly peering over the steering wheel - pelik tapi benar :)

and then, many ceos that i hv the fortune to meet seem to tower over the rest of us vertically challengers :o

but then i borrowed confidence from hitler, arroyo, habibi, musolini, napoleon, what-his-name the Mission impossible guy with the catwoman for his xwife, bush jr, dengxiopeng, emperor-san wathis name, and also selangor beloved semuanya Ok man...these vertically challenged people gave me much hope :D

then methink, hr manager also look for tallies otherwise why do i have to state my height in the job applicn form?? :(

The poor chappy is challenged in more ways than one.

The term "mentally challenged" comes to mind ..................actually "semuanya challenged" is more appropriate for this UMNO boot polisher. :D

Boss... lucky you not 157.3mm... dun ask where la... but then again 157.3mm for other part ok watt  :p ...

But on the other hand - horizontally, does height matter ??? :D

Teeque

On the other hand, I hv also met many bosses who are horizontally challenged. I guess what tupai read may be a perception of the writer. There are always 2 sides to a coin. But like everyone here do agree, its not the height or size that matters but most importantly its the size of your grey matter that matters. Coming back to Asian comparisons, besides Deng Xiaopeng, just look at Jackie Chan, Tony Leung, Jet Li, Leslie Cheung, Tycoon Li etc - all horizontally challenged but powerful people. Closer to home, the Lee dynasty of Singapore's ruling party portrays the power of both extremes. One is a shorty and one a tallie, both rule the Lion City. But one is a ruling leader and the other a leading ruler; one sharp at the tongue and one sharp in mind. Care to guess which is which, anyone? :)

I don't think ppl that are short got lesser privilege. Me think they get more and some of them tend to take advantage also.

Hey, short ppl got taller ones to open the door, alwiz be the first to stand in front & free gifts also dapat extra. Like me :D :p The other day, Petronas was having this Coffee Break at those highway stations. Free milo drinks only for kids 12 yrs & below or shorter ppl get to cheat their way thru also.

See how lucky they get?

Aiyah...this is a narrow thinking of yours... how u know taller people will not get their treat? Instead of free Milo, the taller people (or better known as adults) will get free Nescafe.....

Coming back to the question of lesser priviledge and salary for shorter people... eh.. I doubt this is applicable here or developed countries. All these go back to your self-confidence... some shorter people will feel they are less capable than the tall people, thus, gave up on some oppportunities and settled with less priviledges.... I believe everyone knows who is Maradona... isn't he the famous soccer player at one time?

So, as long as u can reflect a confidence self... u r still capable of winning anything.

Halo, what is there to be narrow or winding or straight thinking? Free Nescafe is a confirm thing that adults will get or even kids. Free Milo is only for kids. I was there tryin' my luck to get it cos I prefer milo than nescafe.

They say I'm slightly above the height of a 12 yrs old so cannot take milo. Har ... apa macam? You have your kid next to you, confirm you can get milo. Apa macam lu mau say?

And why must you have a narrow or winding but never straight thinking that taller people are better known as adults? What is your definition of adults? Some kids are taller than adults also.

In Middle-earth's past, the hobbits had dwelt in the northern reaches of the Vales of Anduin, and the language Tolkien used to represent that region was Old English, the tongue of the Anglo-Saxons. His task, then, was to find words from Old English that might transform over millennia into the form 'hobbit'.
