Looking for fine thin Gunny Rope

Does anyone have idea where could I find a thin gunny rope? I have tried so many Hardware shop in town included Big or small, they not selling anymore :( Really appreciate anyone could provide me info ;)

U should try at KL, near Petaling Street/Klang Bus stop. There is a big RICE distributor right infront of the Gas Station. Ask them if u can have some or might pick up some.

They still use gunny sack for potato, rice, poultry feeds and potato for 50kg above.

Sometime u need gunny string to mend holes... made by rats or for rice sampling/grading.

Do you mean those hand made brownish rope people use to pull up the sail for ship and sailling boat??

Yep thats the type, but am looking for very fine type about 2mm to hang baskets for union or garlic, so i need thin fine type =P. I could find 6mm or bigger a lot at hardware shop. Unfortunately, the gunny bag is too fine but still Thanks for Franky for advice, at least I know where to find it =)

I heard malacca old hardware shop still carry some old stocks. Will be travel down to get those plus for my vacation =)

Yes! I bought mine there, those old small hardware store in Jalan Tukang Besi in Malacca. I was shock to see and find things that I never though were still existed :D Mine was 10mm I guest but I will be going there sometime this week, If I can find 2mm??!! Do you mean 2mm in diameter??

Yup. The diameter about 2mm - 5mm (max). Am just back from Malacca but too bad that most of the shop is closed!!! GIG HEI arrr!!!!! Guess might going there again some where non-holidays plus week day. According to them weekend all the shop is closed =S So you will going there this weekend? Perhaps can tumpang if you got it =P. is that possible you give me the direction of the shop then i will go there to get rather then having treasure hunt now. =(

Was back kampung during the holidays... sad but they dont sell rice in gunny sack anymore... all in 20kg, 10kg or 5kg plastic bag :(

LOL... Life has become so commercializ already, those old traditional stuff almost wipe off by the new tech =S

I have found Ace hardware (Ikano) shope that sell the type that I want. But its too long, about 500 meters long. wow... which I don't need that long & they don't sell in lose pack =( If really no further choice I will get that roll, then thinking of others deco with gunny rope then =P After all the cost is about Rm35.90. kekeke...

Thank You so much Franky & Lu. You guys really helps a lot. Hope my DIY project could be finish as soon as before Christmas, then I could relax & have cup of coffee in house with my deco in Balinest style (partial only) & some Christmas deco for this year.. yeah!!!
