I posted this in the pets corner but I am hoping its okay to post this here as well as not everyone reads the pets corner.

I found a 10 month old female Golden Retriever in the Sunway area. If anyone has lost their dog, please contact me at 012-206 9168. Please also provide the microchip number as proof of ownership of the dog. I have temporarily taken the dog in as kids were throwing buckets of water at her. She's very tame and followed me willingly.

If anyone has any friends who owns a Golden Retriever in the Sunway area, please do contact them as well to see if they have lost their dog. They may not read forums.

Errrr... I already have many dogs. I really can't keep her la. Just took her in because felt sorry for her.

:-) .. the retriever iz lucky to have you around. They are such gentle dogs. Hope she finds her owner and that she wasn't abandoned.

Just curious.. with the chip can't the owner be traced?

and if cannot be traced? how long lapse time before you can rightfully give the dog to a new owner such that the previus owner can't claim ownership??.. is there some kind of regulation on this?

Yes, the owner can be traced. Unfortunately, the person who bought the dog did not or has not transfered ownership. So currently, the breeder is the owner. I have called the breeder (who is in Pahang, by the way) and he has told me that he will need a few days to check his records to see who he sold the dog to. If he is a responsible breeder, he should be able to come back to me in a couple of days. Generally, breeders should have the contact as they would need it to pass the cert to the buyer once the cert is ready.

Aiyah...you all make me shy la :o

Anyways, I am in the pet industry, so it seemed like a natural thing to help out the dog.

OT: For all of you out there who do have dogs and cats, please do put a tag on your dog with your contact number. This would make it so much easier for people to locate you if your dog or cat were to run out. :)

On the other hand, they can train their dogs to dial their owners' phone number for you to speak to them or train them to speak like USJ27Resident who can even speak to you!! Wooooff (Bye)
