Did u hear the radio ad on some insect spray? Goes something like this...
"Quick! Daniel, bring me the xxx water based aerosol."
"Wow! Daniel, Jasmine. You guys use xxx water based aerosol too?"
Sorry lar, can't remember exact words... I always switch the channel when this ad comes on air because it is so lame!
Also, the radio ad that was played during Mother's day recently. The so-called international model whose voice was used spoke REALLY bad English. She couldn't pronounce the letter "L" properly, and to imagine the advertiser's name has got 2 L's. And as if to antagonise us listeners further, they played the ad again for Father's Day!
Now, don't even talk about TV ads... that's another story altogether.
Of course, there are also really good ones. But we're here to talk about the bad ones, right?
BTW, I think this thread is in the wrong forum. Should it be moved to the Chatterbox maybe?

I don't watch too much of television myself. But one of the better ads I have seen on TV is the OCBC one. Don't quite remember the tagline, but the Ad has a very nice feel to it and the human elements exercising/ explaining the various benefits in a very creative way is quite refreshing!
TM ads are also great! It's handled by TWBA/ISC (http://www.tbwamy.com/about/default.asp) Malaysia.
Which are the better ads you guys have seen/heard on TV/Radio?

Ladies shampoo ads.
In the TV program>
Can you immagine some good looking lady holding a well known lady,s shampoo and telling the viewers how good it does for her hair. How shinging, how soft. Very smooth. The funny thing is she has her scaff ( tudong) on all the time. What is she showing. Cannot allow people to see her hair and she wants to be a shampoo model. The adv. company must be joking. :)
Very soon the same ads company will advertise colgate tooth paste with someone, brushing his 'mouth,, without a single tooth in the gum. Funnyyyyy.

That ad was targetted at that specific race demographic. Contrary to what you believed, that marketing strategy was a huge success. It even spawned a Malay drama which featured the model and subtle messages frm the shampoo advertiser.

Oh, yes, There are soo many out there I just cringe whenever these ads come on...but I think the worst one of all was the "Fair and Lovely" ad....I just found it so degrading and very tactless...Geez...havent they heard the saying, "black is beautifull??" thankfully I dont see that ad anymore..but before it was quite rampant on tv.
