Thank you for reading my post. I need help to buy a webcam for my PC.
i am actually rather hopeless in PC and its capabilities...
my view cam should ideally be one that is auto focus..the one i bought last week is not so good. It is blur and the shop is not helpful at all. It had cost me rm80.00. I think i had be conned.

Please recom me a better web cam. I use Dell Inspiron PC.

Thanks.

I always prefer to stick with Logitech and Creative. If you want something that auto focuses... i think what you need is the face-tracking model. Will cost you a bomb though.
Been using Logitech cams for years now. No probs even when my sis dropped it into the aquarium. hahaha

Depending on your usage.. if u r using for normal instant messenging, then the OEM type with built in mic and light is more than sufficient.... I am using one, which is 350k pixel, with auto light on and built in mic (that means, I no need to buy additional mic) and the price is only RM38! I bought in Imbi Plaza, second floor.

I think our streamyx is not up to the standard to use 1.3mega pixel webcam..and as for auto-focus.. unless u r using it for recording something, else there is no need auto focusing function (coz u will sit in front of the camera when messenging).

As for branded one...no doubt it is good quality but what's the point.. u buy RM38, after 1 year, change new one, another RM38 (or even cheaper by then) since technology never stays..... no point buying such branded ones, costing u over hundred.

best if you go to IT centres and test out every single one of them till you're satisfied with one...

best place to visit would be Lowyat Plaza on 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor...
its directly behind Sg Wang Plaza..

not necessary have to go for branded ones, but of course, branded ones would have good warranties...

good reputable brands would be as what LOL has mentioned... :)

check out the Logitech WEBSITE (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/productlist/MY/EN,crid=2203,categoryid=17)

p/s: I don't work for them... :p

The Logitech website listed the Malaysian office as being in 17A, SS15/4E but no one seems to be there. I'm looking for a webcam that can work with a Mac and as far as I can tell, probably only Logitech has it in the QuickCam Pro. Anyone knows what other alternatives there are?
