Two issues of this news report grieves me.

1 Why the MCA ministers kept quiet on this issue knowing OKK was correct.
2 Najib said "I don't want to talk about facts, that's another issue. But as a matter of principle, deputy ministers and ministers must look (at issues) under their own jurisdiction and not touch on other ministries (with the exception of) the prime minister and deputy prime minister.
"Based on this principle, Ong had erred."

Ong Ka Keat is the only honest and brave MCA Minister, others are just Yes Ministers and I salute him.

Ong Kah Keat might have been right on the points he raised. Ong Ka Keat might have been a brave and honest man. Ong Ka Keat might have done the correct thing by raising the issues.

HOWEVER Ong Ka Keat has taken the wrong channel, or said the wrong thing at the wrong place. Thats what Najib is saying, and the sad thing is Najib is probably right.

Ong Ka Keat might be honest and brave as you said he is, but for him to continue to be able to do his duties to the community, he must also be able to survive long enough. Blunders like this would only shorten his political life, remember, the government is not MCA but a coalition and MCA ain't the big brother in there! UMNO is!

I think OKK knows all these he has been a Minister for a long time and he was well prepared for the conquences..but somebody had to spill the beans, glad at least he was brave enough to make it public how much of budget money is siphoned out for another purposes.

Even if his future is bleak we wll remember him.

Even if his future is bleak we wll remember him.

Oh? His political obituary sudah publish kah?

Ok then, lets all just watch if any other MCA leaders will come to support him and what he brought up and try to resurrect his political fortune or...

... They light joss-sticks and burn incense paper of gold and silver to bury him too for good.

Sad but true, thats how politics in Bolehland has always been, not a single one fight on principles and truth or honesty, its more on political patronage and maintaining status quo, "don rok da bot" as the Sarawakians will say to you!

The MCA VP could have just go to the Minister, raise the issue behind door. My feeling is, Ong needs to learn how the Malay does thing. Once you bring up in the open and the case become a "malu" case, the big boy will defend the "kanco-kanco" tooth and nail.

And now that the No 2 man, instead of investigating the allegations made by Ong Tee Keat has started to cast the first stone on the messenger who brought the bad news, I have a strong feeling that more and more of their men will also throw stones and those who want to be champions will start to hurl rocks and boulders. These are the unscrupulous fellas who are going to make it as a race issue since we are talking about the Chinese government aided schools and the Malays bureaucrats who are supposed to manage the repair funds. If people can be so heartless dipping their hands into the Tsunami's Aid Fund, what makes you think they will not do so here?

How come Najib kept quite when the state Pemuda questioned the Penang Chief Minister demanding the minister's resignation from the state water boards?

What about KJ's role in questioning MCA's taking advantage of UMNO weakness?

Cabinet keep mums on all this? This is a racist country....!

uchangeng, the ruling in simple plain England is that each minister minds its own ministry. That Prime Minister wanna-be and his Mat Rempit gang can say what they want because they are not ministers though they are behaving more like one. If this is the ruling, then the only way out is that we must recognise that a Minister is a MP first and a minister second which means he wears two caps and both are on their heads. So Ong should qualify himself as a MP and said he is bringing this issue up to the attention of Parliament that such nonsense should never have happened. And that would have settle everything. They will be caught on how to reply as lately, there are efforts taken to make MPs as gods - cannot be criticised or chatised though they have blood in their hands.

...........

Just saw the Mandarin news on NTV7, there was a poll regarding MCA heads supporting OTK .... 97% said MCA heads should (not sure how many people sms in for the poll)
but I think what Najib said make sense .... it is not the allegations but the way OTK raised it that cabinet was unhappy about.

OTK should know from day one, that are the consequences as long as they are under the big bully UMNO. Just look at those MCA ministers....not even one dare to stick their neck out for OKT. However, there seems to be no losers in this fiasco. At least..
OKT - a hero in the hearts of the Chinese
Hishammuddin - a hero in the hearts of the Malays
Najib - A very decisivie DPM in making the `verdict' of the event. The ability that even his superior is very lack of :D
& Mustapa - a very open minded gentleman who is willingly to apologize to anyone for something he has not done :)

These are all sickening dramas outplayed by low class mentality ppl, just name a few: nazri shouted the word 'racist' for 40+ times in the cabinet, umno youth monkey show in penang, mat rempit, KJ blah blah blah!! SICKSICKSICK!! what a shameful and disgraceful politikus scene!

Oh, you're forgetting that there is a Chief Whip in Parliament who brings the Barisan MPs back along party lines if they stray out of line. And who is the Chief Whip? If one goes out of line, then the Parliamentary Disciplinary Committee is waiting for them. Look what happen to Sharir, the JB MP, and where is he now? Either way, there is no right channel for OTK. The best one is to close one eye, toe the line and shuddup!

I remember watching the news last night, a reporter was asking DPM why the recent case in Penang was not condemed, while Ong's case was condemed?
then DPM replied, Penang case was considered a POLITICAL issue, so it's OK, while Ong's case was a GORVEMENT issue, so it's NOT OK....

Malaysia politician standard really like kanak kanak game. We have Hishammuddin vs OTK, Pak Lar vs TMahathir, Youth Umno vs KTK. They should focus and go with national and global agendas rite? Malaysia already left far behind from others first world countries and those third world countries is chasing closer and closer and some seen better than Malaysia but the kanak kanak still playing war games.

In the issue of Chinese schools being short changed in the implementation of emergency repair, the Star,a self-proclaimed The People's Paper (and owned by MCA), only reported news in favor of the Government or UMNO, not a word about the replies from OTK (not OKT, who has been mouse-quiet), and the school boards of the various SRJK (c), and the Chinese communities about their frustration. We do not need the Paper to sensationalize the issue, but just to have fair reporting, and to report the truth. Again, this Paper fails miserably. SV's comment is also fantastic, no problem, small matter, afterall it is only RM30K becoming 3K. My ministry has handled RM billions and who can say some may not have shrunk? No wonder it is small matter. Semuanya ok, to borrow such words from the developed State.

OTK = Ong Tee Keat the guy who spoke the truth

OKT = MCA President Ong Ka Ting whom I have yet to read any news item of support for his VP or speak up for the issue.

So don't mix up OTK for OKT and OKT for OTK
