can anybody tell me what they put into this sauce where they slip the bananas through before frying them ?
crazy for pisang goreng but often lazy to go out and find !!

corn flour (tepung jagung) + rice flour (tepung beras) + a bit of salt - if i am not mistaken :D
u can get the the instant (premixed) pack in supermarket - brand adabi :)
sorry if i am wrong :p but this is my pisang goreng recipe ;)

You can try put in a bit of ENO.. it will make the pisang goreng crunchy.. ;)

ENO?? :confused: Not baking powder mah?? Firefly use a mix of corn flour and self rising flour...something like 1/2, 1/2. then a pinch of salt and egg.

Er.. I know my mum put a bit of ENO when she made them.. quite nice.. :D

come to think of it, If you use ENO, cut back on the salt. ENO is already salty. maybe firefly gonna try this...:D

Steam cake if put ENO will make it more kembang.
I once ask a pakcik his recipes for the batter and he told me he put some tepung kacang kuda. that is why his batter looks yellowish instead of white. Very crispy.

and you can substitute the eggs with custard powder......

for the adventurous......try substituting water with beer....or even the "guinness stout....."
.....mmmmm....yummy......
but make sure you are not in the driver's seat afterwards...... :D
