RM1000 deduction for Income Tax 2007

The garbermen announce a RM1000 deduction in Personal Income Tax for 2007 for buying books.

You can now buy more books for yourself, family, relatives and for charity.

Just make sure you keep your receipts. :D

If seperate assessment for husband/wife = RM2000?

just keep in mind it's tax relief... meaning a reduction from amount of taxable income, rather than a RM1000 deduction off the tax payable.

if your income bracket is 20% it's a saving of RM200, for the RM1000 spent on books.
