Read this in MM today. (http://www.mmail.com.my/Current_News/mm/Tuesday/Hotnews/20060905113615/Article/index_html)
So said the elder brother of 21-year-old murder victim, Shah Faizlan Wahyu Abdullah, who died after being assaulted by a group of about 20 people in SS15, Subang Jaya, last Sunday.
Murder cases seem to be increasing in our SJ-USJ area.
I notice a lot of happenings and events (could be good, bad or ugly) in SJ-USJ reported in the newspapers do not get reflected through our community forum here. Is there any ways that they can be reported in this community forums. Maybe the forum can form a PR committee to pick up the various news and events.
One thing that can give Subang Jaya a bad image is when newspapers put "Subang Jaya" in bold letter as a subheading before the news for non-SJ related criminal activities that are reported in the Subang Jaya or USJ 8 police station. Some of these criminal events happened in surrounding areas of Puchong, nearby squarters, etc. However many readers may not read into the detailed news and simply relate the crime to Subang Jaya. If many of such news are raised, over the long term, others will get some negative image of Subang Jaya.
These newspaper should be told to be more precise and exclude "Subang Jaya" from that news if it did not happen in the Subang Jaya-USJ itself.
