Generic Host Process for Win32 Services

hello
am using Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2
Pentium 4 1.70 GHz, 256 MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 128 MB, DirectX 9.0c
motherboard built-in sound system, SoundMAX Digital Audio
D-Link DFE-528TX network card
Aztech DSL 900E(B)2 modem
all drivers are up to date
but have not try to Windows update, though
this error message only pops up when i'm connected to the internet
it might pop up 1 minute after i'm connected
or it could sometimes pop up after 1 hour that i'm connected to the net
after the error message pop up, i'll get DC-ed next
no firewall was turn on
run through different anti-virus / anti-spyware programs, all are clean
formatted the PC twice, too
yet, i'm still getting this error
any advice from anyone here?
any help would be very much appreciated

not too sure whats the problem but try turning off the following services and have a look.

Universal Plug and Play Device Host
SSDP Discovery Service


i last read that both are heavily bugged... not sure if sp2 patches it or makes it worse.

but it was very discouraging to know that after i bump the thread, then only 2 replies from the regulars here?
oh boy
anyway, enable the firewall
and the error will be gone
