I would suggest you go to www.rilek.com.my (that is where I registered myself) and get yourself registered as a user and with that done, you can check all the summons you want including your family members, your friends, your boss and your politicians so long as you know their IC numbers. You can also pay the summons as well. But if you don't feel comfortable paying online via credit card or you want some discount, you will have to go to a police station and make your rayuan there. In your case, the police station in Subang Jaya in SS 17 would be very glad to receive your payment. I thought everybody knows about this arrangement or process.

It is better to pay manual and get a proper receipt. I paid a saman in May 06 thru rilek online. They credited my account plus RM2 transaction cost. At that time I thought "How convenient and efficient", only to find out that the transaction was rejected this month and $$ credited back to my account!! Wasted a %$$%RM2 and I could have been paid a visit by the cops for not paying!! Sometimes I wondered all this are just a ripoff. Does all these govt e-commerce inititiatives really work??

I was directed to the HQ police PJ in PJ State Jln Penchala.

I asked for a reduction in fine. $70 just for forgetting to put on my safety belt ? Reduced to $50 ! :( What happened to those days where the fine is Rm $ 20 for minor offences ?

Can we get a reduction in SS17 police station ?

If you are asking an expert like me on traffic summon, the answer is NO for your summon to be reduced any further. At balai polis level, they collect at face value. You can only make your rayuan for discount at the nearest Ibu Pejabat Daerah and nearest to Subang Jaya is Shah Alam or Petaling Jaya. Even our IPD Subang Jaya at this moment does not consider traffic summon appeal. Bring along your summon or notification and just go to IPD PJ. Parking across the road is only 60 sen and very convenient as well. You will have to write your appeal on a piece of white paper following a sample available there and hand it to the officer. You will then be told when to return to pay the reduced summon. An officer will have to go through all the appeal letters in batches. My advice to you is to go back on the date he tells you. The last time I delayed for a week, I had to search through a mountain of summons as they chucked away all uncollected appeals into a heap when you don't come on time to retrieve them.

The minimum fine for any traffic summon is RM 70.00 especially for any minor offences eg parking. This can be reduced down to RM 50.00. If it can be reduced to RM 20.00, I would be the first to break all these minor offences as it is worth the gamble. But it will make a mickey out of the penalty system.

PS
Can you do us all a favour? Please bring a carbon paper along with you and come back home to type out those wordings so that in furture we print the letter out in our home instead of writing it there. Lagi neat and maybe better discount for tepat, cekap dan betul appeal.

.

For poor people , Rm $ 20 and having to go all the way there is also quite a lot of money and hassle. For rich people , even rm $100 is not a deterrent.

Anyway, they should have better ways of grouping traffic offenses based on severity.

Forgetting to put on safety belt is not as serious as going through traffic light or speeding. :(

towards the left corner ( when you walk into the main entrance ) of the ground floor, police booth. Open on weekends too. Can try to pay there, but dunno whether can give discount or not.

I went there several times.

Most of the time it is unmanned and the sign displays 'System down'. Wonder why the booth is there ...
