A lot of people believe that learning different languages will put you on a pathway to success.

I think, that it would be useful to share some knowledge about language and local culture...because it is interesting and can be useful.
One example that caught my eye can be found here (http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/upload/showthread.php?t=13918)
Anyways, Im willing to share the little that I know. I need to learn the basics in Bahasa Malaysia...and I can share some french, english, arabic, or hindi/urdu.

So here goes...

French verb avoir (to have)

J'ai - I have
Tu as - you have
Il a - He has
Elle a - She has
Nous avons - We have
Vous avez - They have (respectful version of you have)

French verb etre (to be)

Je suis - I am
Tu es - you are
Il est - He is
Elle est - She is
Nous sommes - We are
Vous etes - They are (respectful version of you have)

Next?

good idea but that is written French. How about words to help with the pronounciation? For example 'oui' in French is not pronounced 'ooi' like the written form but pronounced 'wee' - am I right? Just an example to show how the written form is often pronounced wrongly.

ok...."avoir" sounds like "av waaar"

"Je" sounds like "zhe"

So "J'ai" would sound like "zh-ay"

"Elle" sounds like the letter "l"
"as" has a silent letter "s"

So "elle as" would sound like elle "a"

"Nous" sounds like "noos"
"Avons" has a long vowel so it would sound like "av-awns"

So "nous avons" sounds like "noos a-vawns"

Vous sound like "vooze"

cheers, m
