I love pineapples and can't stop eating them! They're so delicious!

So today, I would like to appreciate them here. w00t!

Canned pineapple still ok, but afraid of the fresh one.... i remember having my tongue stings for some time after eating a big piece in primary school

Im also another pineapple freak!! But i only eat the Bali Ong lai or the Sarawak Ong lai.... Must not miss the pineapple in thailand, very sweet and juicy.... I dont eat the local pineapple coz it stings my tongue..... :p

The fact is that almost all pineapple that is ripen on the plant and leave for a day or 2 after plucking is the best. It would not be as sour or as 'stingy..??' as you have describe. Those in the market are pluck way too unripe as they need to last for weeks on the shelf.

I love my kampong home grown ones , at least 5 varieties n seldom buy from the market. I would say that pineapple is one of the easiest to plant around the compound.

Unfortunately, those available here are all the stingy one except for the Bali and Sarawak. But i have had some really good local pineapples in Kukup Johor last month. I couldnt believe the local pineapple can taste so sweet and good! I got to agree with you, maybe all local pineapples are all as good, just is the matter of when it is taken off from the plant...

yeah..when it stings the tongue, it can become very annoying cos it won't go away for some time.

I love pineapple tarts with a hot cuppa black coffee. Sometimes my doggie takes the crust and I eat the fillings. :D

And I love my hawaiian pizza with extra cheese and pineapples.

I thought so too but my gynae said there's proven research by our UM that it has a certain kind of chemical that is harmful for the baby. It may or may not affect thus advised to avoid. But I still eat pineapples during period.

Erm, my mom says that pineapple helps to prevent cancer. Never ask her why and just love eating it. :D

There's one season I ate pineapple almost everyday (with salt) during lunch. Don't know why, suddenly I stopped and never to touch again. That was already many years ago.. Maybe I'd try again soon.. thnx for the reminder.

My friend going back to JB this weekend and he told me that pineapple from his homwtown taste very diff from what we are getting here. He is getting the pineapples for me!! Hehehe, any pineapple freak here wanna try? Hahaha, maybe we should have a pineapple gathering here, hehehe....
