firefly using a 10 yr old combo. (sanyo). No problems so far. But then fully analog unit. Only problem is you cannot use the microwave when the Oven is in use. So you cannot while baking a cake, heat up a cup of milk. :( Also is one konks, then you are stuck without any oven.

So unless space is a constrain, get 2 seperate units.

I've been using a Daewoo 3in1 oven, grill and microwave for the past 5 years. So far hasn't given me any problems. It has 10 power levels, 6 auto cook options and 3 auto defrost options.

Convenient and easy to use.

If you really like to cook, a combo unit is next to worthless. It will be like a spork. Instead, get a real oven and and a real micro.

("Spork" - A spoon combined with a fork but which won't work very well as either.)

In addition, if you're into cooking you will frequently face double-need situations, i.e. doing the baked potatoes in the micro while doing a meat dish in the oven.

But if your use of the oven stops at prefab pizza, then a combo is perfect. :)

Research has shown that it is 16 times more dangerous to stand next to a microwave oven than directly under a 275kv transmission line.
