This tip was given at a recent gardening forum.

Put some water in a white dinner plate and add a few drops of Lemon Fresh Joy/Harimau Kuat Lemon flavour diswah. Set the dish wherever you want to get rid of the mosquitoes (Denggi/Malaria).

The mosquitoes will flock to it, and drop dead shortly after drinking the concoction, and usually within about 10 feet of the plate.

TRY IT--- My friend says it really works...

any truth to this?

Personally I don’t think there is any truth to it…but no harm in trying if you want to and let us know…

Moreover...mosquitoes get attracted by dark colors only...and there is no scientific proof as to lemon's chemical acts as a killer...

i'm using a bio-degradable washing liquid which may be food to the mozzies, so can't experiment yet.

maybe it's not the lemon that kill them, it could be the other chemicals.

Very true Arwen...
citronella oil is nothing new...its the oil extract from serai! :)
Most of the repellent brand do use its oil...so it should be effective.

Unfortunately Citronella based repellants don't last as long as DEET based ones
