hi andrew,
depending on your profession, if u are in IT line especially sys admin, programmers, u probably can work from home.
if u want to do sales, u can setup a website to sell your stuffs, and keep the stock at home, deliver using courier service that drop by to collect the goods from your house.
if u provide services, for example, real estate, properties, u can advertise in the paper, or internet and still work at home until someone call u.
u can also setup up virtual stores in ebay or lelong and start selling things...
u can bake cake at home and hire a van to deliver them...
so many possiblities...

yinxy,
real data entry work does not require you to deposit any money, and most of the real work does not.
any one offer you work and yet need you to pay in advance...very high chances it is fake.
if u want to start something from home, try sell something...ebay or lelong or any auction site.
browse around see what are the popular items...no cost invloved...
also u can also work with real estate agent, help them advertise and pass info and collect some comission if the deal is on.
or u can help video distributor and sell some original videos online , some requires you to stock but some don't...
u can also work with stationary distributor and setup a site that take orders and pass order...
so many possibilities....whichever u are in...just don't get con...
cheers

hmm.. i think real estate really good. some of my fren (even those younger than me) did well, driving merz/ bmw.
but as i know, the comm payment is very slow. have to make sure you be able to sustain yourself for at least half a year before receiving your portion. if you're waiting for the comm to survive, you'll die with real estate ;)
other soho business you may consider is:
- homebase childcare center
- freelance accounting service
- home baking
the best is - find a rich husband or wife and be a homemaker hehe :p
