Hey
I drink milo everyday but without anything with it meaning "milo kosong" 3 - 5 time per day
In long run, is this good?
I observe that the milo from Tin is already added with some amount of sugar whenever I make a fresh cup of milo, the sugar will settle to the bottom and can be seen each time you finish drinking.

If it makes you happy, then it's good for you. That's my way of judging if something is good for me or not.

What kind of question is that? Don't you know that drinking Milo make you sihat dan kuat? So far I have not heard of any casualty resulting from drinking Milo. But do practice moderation. :p

No harm its not coffee or tea you are drinking, but i suppose you might add some extra calories which can be burnt with some exercise...go and enjoy your Milo

yeah.. no kidding. Hehe! No need to survey, just drink it up! Me used to like condensed milk in my milo too but have stopped since my thumb got cut while opening a can of milk. Nearly lost my livelihood all for the love for milo! Hehe! So lately milo kosong will do.. :) yum.

my advice is do not drink everyday especially so many times a day.
I have heard that using the same shampoo for a long period also can't clean the hair that well gradually, using the same petrol too long also will cause some certain clog up in the engine thus losing power....and drinking too much tea can cause stone in kidney and pancreas. :o

It all depends on how much total sugars/carbo you consume each day. If you don't eat too much carbo and don't consume excessive amounts of sugared drinks, then the 3-5 milo kosong each day won't do any harm unless you break down with hives which i have seen happen to someone close to me. Each time she consumes more than 3 milos a day, she breaks out with hives.
Be smart about the total sugars you consume daily, and compare it with the amount of activity / exercise you do as well. Live in moderation :)

i'm a milo junkie too.
need my cuppa every morning to help me feel "normal", and an late afternoon one as a booster.
have not conciously counted how many sudu i put in, but it fills up about 1/4 - 1/3 of the cup.
i'm the sort who would bring milo along when travelling.
was in london last week, and i brought my own milo there, which was a good thing cos i didn't see it sold at the supermarkets. have to go to the larger superstores to find it.
btw, milo in aust, hongkong, uk etc is malt based whereas m'sia milo is palm based. you can taste the difference.

Is Milo a local brand?
Milo is owned by Nestle and if I remember as far back as the 60's, having British overlords before, its not surprising we're all influenced into consuming Milo, Horlicks, Ovaltine, KitKat, Cadbury, Marie biscuits, Rothmans, Dunhill, 555, Benson & Hedges..setra, setra. :D
btw, milo in aust, hongkong, uk etc is malt based whereas m'sia milo is palm based. you can taste the difference.
You know why? PALM OIL is NOT allowed to be a food component in EU, US and Australia produce for their own market. They all support corn or soya oil.
Anyway.. we're all hoodwinked that consuming palm oil is healthy. Its LONSENSE! With the current method of oil extraction from the palm seed, its not any healthier..only worse!.

besides teh-o and teh-halia, the only real drink out there is milo. i qualified 2 b ambassador of nestle as far as this brand is concerned eons ago - three daily sessions of 1-litre mugs milo kosong each made according to recommended method of preparation, ie half milo n half water. nestle shareholders owe their dividends in part to me ;) . ever since i acquired evidence of being vertically challenged and lost desire for sporting activity i self-imposed a ban on the green can. :( (btw mon, u the first one i've heard becoming horizontally challenged due to consumption of "diabetes food". :D )
and if u wanna know how the drink kickapoo looks like, just consume 30% what i drink and watch your waters flow . :p
pc, my oxford describes livelihood as a means of securing the necessities of life. u know mon personally, but others like me who dont will have envisaged her job to be dependent on her thumb.
moral of the story, make sure u hv personal accident insurance, just in case yr livelihood is dependent on some organ u may accidentally lose. n while u r at it, get a medical policy too.

Mon, condensed milk now comes in squeeze bottles mah, no need to mess around with dangerous tin cans anymore lah. Go get some and Enjoy! :D

I don't think eating Milo is to be blamed for you getting horizontally-challenged. You simply did not follow instructions on the Milo tin.
If you eat milo without drinking adequate water, your body may not absorb all the nutrients (fat included) from the chunks of milo in your intestines. They're simply too gooey to be processed.
That is why you don't see the Milo tin stating "So good you can eat it on it's own". It is meant as a drink. It's not called a "fortified drink" for nothing. :)

Thank you! Will do so. Milo sure tastes better with some condensed milk. :)

Wow, Milo without adequate water. That means, you can indulge without worries anymore! Your body won't absorb all? Well, maybe it is better that all of us eat Milo RAW. Sure no more horizontally challenged issues.
Was told by a friend that Malaysia is the World No1 consumer of Milo. Comparing with any beverages, milo is the best. :D :D :D

Used to see the milo in small, one sugar packet size...no, not those three in one packet.
Used to be sold in the sundry shops together with those individual packet of MilkMaid condense milk which you could just cut a corner and squeeze it out right into your mug or into your mouth....yummy!!
Too bad, can't find it anymore especially the condense milk packets which was extremely convenient for travelling.

I have it as heresay from a very reliable source that our former Prime Minister, Dr M, has a mug of hot Milo every night before he goes to sleep.
:)
Here a recipe for Milo Bananarama Shake:
• 8 tablespoons MILO
• 4 tablespoons hot water
• 3 ripe bananas (pisang emas)
• 1¾ cups chilled NESTLÉ Full Cream Milk
• 2 scoops NESTLÉ Vanilla Ice-cream
Dissolve MILO in hot water; allow it to cool.
Cut banana into large pieces.
Then blend well all ingredients except ice cream. Pour into chilled tall glasses and top with ice cream. Serve immediately.
Makes 2 servings.
Good pick-me up drink b4 or after a good workout! :)

Eat anything and everything.... At the end of day, the key word is moderation. Second, if you enjoy input, then ensure you have sufficient output and things should be ok.

over indulgence is never too good.
(sorry off the topic)
but I have seen some guys EATING BA KUT TEH EVERYDAY.
and these guys are really really thin and fit!
so, sometimes, over indulgence is not "never too good"

Yes sir. Am thinking about getting a medical policy soon for all 10..but I hope the insurance company does not have a clause added for those who eats milo, or else I would not be eligible. :p (na, have stopped doing that a long time ago)... sorry chang for the digression.

Cold Milo from the Milo van is easily found - just participate in the half marathons, 10K runs and similar events. Having run at least 5 to 7 Km, your body can accomodate a few cups of those cold manna without worries about calories. :)

Milo it seems is an Australian brand.
Anyone know how that canned Milo taste so nice. Anyone know the secret recipe?

Milo has 1.8gm of saturated fat and 11.6gm of sugar per 25gm serving. Not exactly healthy.
And if you load on the condensed milk and evaporated milk in a Milo tarek or Milo dinosaur, the amount of saturated fat and sugar per serving skyrockets!
And people still think the stuff is good for you!
Why not stick to teh si kosong, or if you want to go upmarket, English Breakfast Tea with skim milk, no sugar?

Actually its the large amount intake of sugar that is more harmful then anything else....satu milo kurang kurang manis thats the way to go. :D
it says on milo's can or wrapper .. that when u drink it .. it helps ur body release energy from the protein, fat n carb from ur body ... so it gives u energy n uses up the stuff u have consumed .. or if u didnt eat anything .. it depletes ur body's protein, fat n carb .. that doesn;t sound too cool right ?
so .. this is why i never drink milo unless if i'm preparin myself for a long day/nite .. coz i need the energy
i believe if u dun need the energy .,. then just drink milk .. otherwise all that unused energy will make u errrr ... fat or diabetic ?
Agreed! And I miss the free cold milo we used to get from the milo van during schooldays..Anyone miss that too?
:D Ya it's VERY NICE< somehow they know how to make the Milo taste so good, and always take second or even third cup that time hehe ^^

Err...as kids has anyone tried to put their Milo into the freezer...n later eat it like ice cream...?
Hmmm...can't recall when was the last time Orchi had a drink of Milo...must have been a looooooog...looooooooooooog time ago...:o
Wa orchi. First it was coke and now milo? Hehe..can try that for my niece and nephew. They just love iced milo.
I still remember that jingle, Milo milo anda jadi...sihat dan kuat! It's true. :)

You must've misunderstood the claims on the tin. Milo claims it contains thiamine among many other ingredients. Thiamine (known as vitamin B1) merely helps release the energy from carobohydrates and fats, it's one of the natural chemicals which our body uses to metabolize our food, nothing new there.
