Just bought 3 air-con, using the installer recommended by the electrical shop.
First day came with air-con, do some planning, dig some holes, second day MC, not sure about third day? total time taken is said to be 3 to 4 days, incredible. It is an apartment and exterior unit must be placed at a fixed place.
No doubt lengthy piping but dun think time taken is that long.

Pl recommend if you know of any good air-con installer.

This reminds me of some renovation contractors, keen to take project, first day put some sand and disappear for some days, and came back to start the work again.

I don't understand why you are looking for a different contractor to take over what was left behind by the earlier contractor unless you have not paid for the installation services when you paid for the air conditioners. Normally installation cost only RM 120.00 per unit inclusive of labour, 10 foot copper piping with insulator and gas. And this is assuming the installation work is on the ground floor or within reach of a 10 foot ladder. Unless you did not reveal to them that the installation is on the upper floor in a condo and the copper pipings and insulators are much longer than the standard ones, the contractor will just abscond from you rather than loose money. You have to renegociate with them to finish the job. To be fair to the contractor, we don't want those honest ones to do the job and lose money especially when the copper prices have gone up by 4 times in the last 1 year. So what is what now?

PC, this contractor charged me RM150 for each air-con, extra 70.00 for pulling electric cable from 3 pin socket to the switch area located beneath the indoor unit, first 10ft piping is FOC, additional length is charged 9.00 per foot. In total including casing, it is about RM2300.00. I don't mind paying if the work is done in a nice and professional way, but then....
My regular air-con man has switched to only doing industrial air-con.
My purpose of looking for another air-con man is not to replace this one if he can finish the job. Just in case he is using MC as an excuse again and keep on dragging....
Main reason is I need to install 2 more air-con again in my company apartment. Scared to meet another irresponsible guy again.

You may want to try this air cond. installer : -

JSA Air Cond Sales & Services

Tel : 03 - 4296 3168

They did a very good job for me last year, when they dismantled (from the old house), chemical-cleaned and re-installed (in my new house) two units of air cond.. Reasonable price and good workmanship.

I understand that they also do air cond. for projects.

Can't remember the person's name, could be James.

Avoid Unicord Engineering(Eddy Woo) USJ 7.

They did some work for me some time ago. Sale included a water heater. Unfortunately he didn't have what it takes to fix one, had difficulty admitting it and evaded responsibility. Finally had to get someone else to fix the mess. Wall and parquet floor partly damaged.

Try Jetcool 7 USJ 10/1A 56343437. www.jetcool.com.my

Wall and parquet floor partly damaged because while fixing the appliance, he cracked an internal pipe. Water leaked internally.
