Easy way or hard?? :D

Liposuction or stomach staple is the easy way but expensive and painful...and can be dangerous..

Another way is Exercise, diet....but then not many can maintain it...:( so...

Another way...Drinks, special foods...pills...etc but then you risk poisioning your liver...(remember the S'pore case?) ...

Again end of July? So lucky..:o Hey Eve ar. Don't bother to exercise la. Just sweat it out over the weekend cleaning your house and washing car. If that's not enough, come over and let my doggie chase you. Think that's better than nothing at all. Perhaps later I might join Mafia at the gym. hehe..see how it goes :) Today I've had only one meal. Vietnamese dinner! It was delicious. Tomorrow I'm gonna do it again. Think I'm getting the hang of it, not feeling as hungry as I thought I would be having just one meal a day. If I get hungry in between, I might take some fruits and a cuppa milo.

if u want to lose weight, do ur exercises and eat moderately. Best is if u do ur cardio on an empty stomach, becoz that's when ur body will be low on the stored energy(glycogen) in the muscles, so it will draw on the fat stored in the body to provide energy.

Then have a good breakfast, rest, and do some moderate weight lifting exercises to build muscles. Muscles are what burns calories, even when u are sitting around or sleeping. More muscle mass increases ur metabolism so u will burn more calories while maintaining a healthy intake. There a lot of theories behind all these fitness thingy i can't explain everything here... these are the basics, go check out some fitness sites to learn more ya.

eve & mon

Dieting is bad for weight control, and u can see from the fine example set by Oprah :D She is a yo-yo.

Why? u ask? Becoz dieting causes ur body to go into a so-called 'survival' mode. Not getting enough nutrition everyday will prompt ur body to defend itself. Once the body is not getting enuff nutrition/energy from ur daily food intake, it will start to lower it's metabolism. And how does the body do that? By reducing the muscle mass in ur body. Less muscle=lower metabolism, so the body will be able to survive on less calories per day. Not to mention 'cannibalizing' ur good muscle tissues for the much needed protein, enzymes and others good stuff for the other vital parts and organs.

Once u stop the dieting and increase ur food intake,(bound to happen 1 time or another, or when the body reduces it's metabolism until even ur diet creates excess calorie), ur body can't metabolise the calories like u used to, though ur appetite may be same or less than b4, the calories u ate can't be used up. So where does it all go to? Turned into fat to be stored away for other 'rainy days' lor.

The only way to lose weight is to create a natural deficit of calorie intake, and let the body slowly change over to the new more active lifestyle. Losing more than 1/2 kg a week is a sign that u r losing muscles, and as a woman, u already hv less of it than men, so u definitely won't want to lose anymore muscles :D Fat is what u r want to get rid of.

I gathered most of these info from a lot of reading and talking to fitness professionals, trying to practice it myself too. Please consult ur qualified personal trainer in a gym who will be able to explain to u in more detail(I hope it's the same things, hehe) :)

Hehe! I know PJS and thanks for the reminder. I have always told myself that diets are ridiculous and it zaps up my energy and it has always been so temporary. Eating has always been one of the great pleasures in my life and when I'm eating out, I totally enjoy myself without guilt. Therefore, I'm not actually dieting, just cutting my usual 2 meals a day to one. Have been under pressure lately due to practice/work etc..so it has been quite bearable for me to skip lunch or dinner and replace it with just fruits and hot drinks. I'm just too lazy to cook! Hehe..I'm also making some small changes in my daily diet to allow me to ease my way to a new healthy lifestyle.
Whoa...I really hope so.

Was tryin' to take food moderately & break up my meals into few sessions. Cut down on teh-ais, taking only limau-ais kurang manis. Maybe my late nites also should cut down then I can look my age instead of 50 plus .. ??

Mon, once I lose weight, you can have my before and after pics. Haha .. no need to take pics of my back already. But by that time, my back also got muscles .. you choose which part of my body muscle you wanna snap photo. hehe .. then do measurements with Julian. :D

i agree with PJS that dieting is no way to lose weight.
you just gotta take the right balanced diet of food
not too much carbs, try to take more protein than carbs
and of cos the veggies lah
never ever skip meals

actually the south beach diet doesnt need a person to starve themself, but they emphasize more on the glycaemic index of a food...
it's actually the amount that it increases your blood sugar level

its pretty efficient
i have the book if anyone is interested
of cos it works with a sufficient amount of exercise :D

Mon. Thanks for the offer to have your dog chase me around but I can do that in my neighbourhood here :p Lots of stray dogs around.

Hahaha, Im not an expert in this field, still learning but of coz happy to share whatever knowledge I have with forum members. :)

And the correct way to diet is to eat more frequent small meals rather than skip all meals. Eating more meals means more chance to makan loh, just hv to be sensible 6 days out of 7 and take an off day once a week(but don't go overboard ok?) So don't hv to worry about no makan kakis. No matter how strict we try to control outselves, we still hv to enjoy some good food to balance it out.

working out for your fitness goals can be hard work, but likez arwenz sayz..."itz cnz b quitez funz workinz outz tooz" :D

Oops, do I start to soundz too mucz like arwen alredi? ..... Just kidding, sorry ar, arwen :p

Best way to lose weight.. eat out less. You dont know how much oil there is in your food. Once you reduce the comsumption of fats, reduce carbo a bit too.. and you will see a difference. Exercise in moderation too, otherwise when you stop... aieeeee.... major disaster!

Cardiovascular exercise which speed up your heart might not make you live longer. Can you extend the life of a Vespa motorbike by stepping on the gas and outrace the traffic cops? If you really want to live longer, go take a nap.

When you exercise a muscle, everyone knows it gets bigger.

So when you exercise on the OSIM I-Gallop, it is supposed to reward you with a much bigger posterior. Similarly, when you exercise your stomach muscles by doing sit-ups, wouldn't it make your stomach much bigger?!

As for modification on the Vespa, would you do anything to mess with your heart e.g. adding in a pacer or a bypass even? Pumping it faster might omit the need for a Viagra but it is not going to last. One only do that when the shelf life expiry date is over or near.

Next question............... :D :D

Err .. kakakcomot, the only thing I can recommend you to reduce the flabby area is use clean wrap. Hehe .. wrap around those area and then you go workout for like half an hour? After that quickly remove those clean wrap around it .. you can see those layer of oil and sweat sticking to it. Really wonderful.

Bet those slimming centre are using the same trick as well which cost your clean wrap only how much? Say RM10? But you pay for at least thousands for them to do it for you. You go gym workout better. Got sauna & steambath extra sweat & oil somemore.

You should be able to see the effect in a months time. ;)

Good luck!

26-06-2006, 01:50 PM
If your body is really flabby then cling wrap it plus workout, it should be able to tone up. Not only water but also oil from body. Hehe .. I got to know bout it when my sis went to Slimming Sanctuary .. they did this to her, wrap her around her body then put her in dunno what.

So I modify it here a bit. Wrap only what is necessary and needed to be wrap then pig it out. Sure can enter Ms M'sia after that. ;) Slim & shapy!

If u ask me how to remove the flabs and transform your body, other than going under the knife (liposuction), there is no easy way but to sweat it out!

Here's one of the amazing transformations that I've come across....

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/trans28.htm

Doesn't mean that it will work for everyone, and no, I don't subscribe to these body buidling mag or their methodologies .. that website's main objective is to sell supplements! :D :D

But there are some basic theories and rules in there about what works--exercise! u can see similar testimonies from those who went to a personal trainer in our local fitness centres, sooo.... use ur own judgement.

Kakakcomot ... am currently working my butt out to put back my old pants so I don't have to give it away. Its really a waste.

Those cling wrap I think they special got it from factory that does it .. cos they use a lot and in bulk. But cling wrap can get it just bout any supermarket stores. How much, I won't exactly know the price, have to ask around those 'si lai' that goes to the groceries often. :D

Gym no friends? Hehe .. join Taipan True Fitness, then I'll be your friend. ;)

Another highlight here, True Fitness ... their counsellor a bit inexperience cos they're new. So I brought my friend over as the promo is still on for $0 joining fee but they said the joining fee is $500. So if we meet this sort of ppl, we need to tackle them back rather than just keep quiet. Slimming down is 70% of what u eat and 30% of what u do.

Eat less carb.
Do more cardio, until you sweat it out!!

I have heard people saying that if you want to loose 1kg try not to eat rice for a week. I've tried that and I think it helps a bit. My problem was the pants I bought in October last year was not comfortable to wear anymore. Somehow my tummy kinda expanded. So what I did was to eat less but frequently and also skip the rice whenever I can, eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. And wallah, now I can fit in the pants again. The mian thing is to still eat but eat less and frequently and whenever you have the time do exercise a bit. This is applicable for those who still have their BMI under 25. The last time before I did all this my BMI was 24.9 now has lessen to 23.8 and I'm still working on it to reach at least a BMI of 22.

Really good to hear that ... I still eat rice off and on ... cannot skip rice for a week, I'll freak out I guess. Haha ... but then workout does help, shape up your body weight will drop a bit .. pants will fit in, not a bad idea also this way. To others, I still looked errrr ... no diff .. but then ourselves we will feel good bout it. More confident also.

I always skip rice when I go on my diets. Up till yesterday, 10 days tak makan rice, reduce food intake and do a little exercise... managed to lose a few pounds lah. But for me, this never lasts.... go hometown one week... pile back all the punds... sigh... the life-cycle of my weight....

Eve, now you lose some pounds already, when you go back to your hometown, you can still maintain'ma just that when you eat, remember to exercise also'lor ... so that your skin and your muscles around you won't be too lose ... otherwise next time, you'll have lose skin. And it's a fact! You won't want that to happen don't you.

Hometown is a place where you used to be slim also what. You make it into a habit then of cos you'll have the time to excercise besides eating and sleeping. Where got shiok oneee .. everytime go back hometown and sleep.

Anyway, half the time I'll be in Redang so I'd be going snorkelling, swimming & berdrama at the beach. That's also some form of exercise rite? Though I'm not sure if that's gonna be enough exercise for a day or not.

Enough Eve! :p More than enough. Wish I could join you frolicking in the deep seas...wow...heavenly.

Know what, I realized that when I get "really" busy, I tend to forget about eating. Not that it's healthy but it's bearable. Like yesterday, I had only one light meal but hot milos in between.

And is it true that sleeping makes us fatter..? Myth or truth I wonder. Would love to sleep more but just not enough time in a day to do my work. Nevertheless, I'm still "fat". Kinda fat la..

Hehe ... eve, if you really swim n dive and snorkel then I guess it is good for you if not, just berdrama aje ... then that is also not bad .. by the time you come back, "chau tar" like charcoal hehe .. you get a tanned and healthy skin at least. :p

Hmmm ... all I know is, sleeping during day time I mean nap'lah .. do help ppl to put on some weight and some are lucky enough cos it won't have any effects on them. Like me, cannot'lah .. have to sleep moderately, get up early and work and work and work!!! :(

I agree with you arwen. But then not many of us got such will power esp we have passion for good food, we go around for food explore. How'lah wanna stay slim? Impossible unless we do daily workout. Eat moderately.

Those sort of food / diet program are for those who only cautious bout their figures, looks, fats & etc ... eat more veges'lah .. less oil, less fat , more fibre.

Put it this way, less fattenin' food & more healthy food = less workout!

If we balance healthy food & fattenin' food ... = balance workout! Why? Cos more healthy food for men, less strength to move about and work around. SO if cont. to workout, I think have to call ambulance for me. :o
