What causes boils? Will taking too much medicine/supplements (flu pills, anti-histamines, vitamins) lead to an eruption of boils? And what's the best way to cure them without having to 'squeeze' the daylights out of the person?

skin is the 2nd largest excretory organ in human body. Apparently boils is a sort of excretion. For example, I get boils 1 or 2 days after I take a bar of chocolate.

I've never had boils till recently. They get so red and inflamed. The whole area will get swollen and the pain is unbearable! Someone told me that it's because I take too much medicine (chemicals) and the body is trying to flush it out. Is this the excretion that you mentioned? I almost fainted trying to squeeze the puss out!!

when one is young and all the excretory organs (liver, lung, skin, kidneys) function properly & efficiently, of course one won't notice anything abnormal at one's body. Two possibilities from my view : (1)The skin will take over some excretory functions of others if they can't do the jobs properly any more due to aging....(2) you really in-took some large amount of toxin so the other organs can't take it and push it to the skin. Control your diet by taking more fresh & raw vege/fruits. Take some good/natural vinegar will help a lot too.

Commonly cited causes of boils are unhygienic skin conditions and diabetes. I'd suggest you do a clean up of places you normally hang around at e.g. your sofa or bed. Would also suggest you test for diabetes at your nearby clinic.

Do not squeeze them when they are not ripe. Do hot presses i.e. soak a face towel in very warm water and compress it against your boil. Do this for at least 10 minutes. In a day or two, you would be able to see your boil ripe for the picking. On the same day if you're lucky.

I don't know. Where are your boils normally sitting? The back of your neck?

Then it's difficult for you to apply the warm compress. Get your partner to help you. Otherwise, applying toothpaste would also help to ripen them.

dirty mattress / bed sheet do cause skin itchiness. if it causes boils, m.. must be very dirty la :D .

anything needs to be aware, usually the mattress is filled with sponge and the casing is synthetic facbric, both are not natural ingredients, and their contact with skin may cause skin problem.. what I do is place a thick cotton blanket under the bedsheet to isolate the contact. Of course, regular change of the bedsheet is necessary, and the blanket below just leave it under sunshine (advisable every 2 weeks).

ic... then you are considered a hard-working girl ler. :)

i forgot to mention this. do you consider the washing detergent/soap powder you use ? what brand is it ? did your boils started with the use of certain detergent ? if possible use good brand like amway to try out for a period of time to see your skin reaction. usually i use minimum amount of soap powder as possible. sometimes I see there are still traces of soap bubbles at the washing machine glass window during the last drying spin process. this tells that soap still remains in the clothes. so i will set the wahing machine to run another final drying spin...

Maybe hor... as a matter of fact I just changed my detergent not long ago cos I was getting too many allergies from the previous one. Okies. I'll get right to getting a new brand of detergent.
