2) USJ11 Afzal, next to Arcadia.
3) USJ8, Pondok Satay, (Somewhere behind Khalifah)
4)

The place is small (Partial air cond and partial open air) but let see what this engineering background owner can do. to accomodate the large number of forumer.

Err..Usj 11 is not a good idea..too small n it being outdoor mostly..it gets to hot or too wet.

Besides..the food n drinks selections are not as good as Khalifa or Asia Cafe..parking space is limited.

1) Stadium Curry House. - USJ16. - Not much difference from the current one so might as well stay put.

2) USJ11 Afzal, next to Arcadia - it is completely outdoor. Rain means poh cik. Very little space inside. You will be sitting by the main road so when Mat Motor speeds by, the noise can be deafening. Metro bus route so occasionally diesel aroma. Parking is not a problem. There is a big screen TV but we go there not to watch TV ke?. Location no good as I live very nearby. Minister of Home Affair can drop in and next instant I become a mouse. And worst still can revoke visa and summon me home anytime.

3) USJ8, Pondok Satay - somehow not easy to find (see Peter got to describe it 'somewhere behind Khalifah') but parking can be a constraint. Do they just sell satay alone? Not a bad idea. Can order their satay and eat them at location No 5 - best of both worlds.

4) Asia Cafe - No no no. Maybe good for Cupid Club. Guys can impress the girls by buying them good supper and what they do after that is their return of investment. For one night stand er er not politically correct to say that ........ok.. only good for once a while session for a change.

5) Khalifah - USJ8. This is better than No 3 in terms of easier to locate but suffer the same disadvantage of parking space. Food and entertainment are OK but can be very crowed. Since next to main road, it is noisy and this is even worst - smelly as well. Longkang nearby so how to enjoy eating.

6) Sri Melor - ss19. Oh no...... No parking space and nothing great. Food also not nice. Might as well meet at Syed across the road.

7) Ali Berjaya - Subang Business Centre (it is still there) This is a ghost town rather dark so can't see what you are eating. His TT is so diluted no kick. Parking can be a big problem. Lagi forumer might get distracted by the presence of other drinking holes nearby. One hot chick walked pass we lose half our members.

8) Restoran Syed - SS19 (Very big open air space at 1st floor) Better than No 6 but suffer same disadvantage of parking space. Afraid boss will find us kedekut and may show sour face if we don't order their food as space here is premium. Good food and piping hot with great variety. Meet here too often and we got to change our gathering name to "Fat people TT session"

9) Sri Melor Daun Pisang in USJ 16 - Sri Melor Daun Pisang which is the sister's outlet at the other end of the block of the original Sri Melor. Here we can also have the option of sitting under the sky but must be able to tolerate the kamikaze mosquitoes. Very spacious and ample parking space. Unfortunately food there very limited selection and cold except roti canai is good (if they are drawing stock from Sri Melor)

Anywhere else?

I believe it's in SS15. Somewhere near to McDonald's drive in?

I think the new Satay Pondok at USJ8 (behind Khalifah) is pretty ideal. Chicken satay is really good (can refill kuah satay which is served in a claypot) and they serve other types of malay food as well besides satay. Drinks are not too bad.
It is partially air-conditioned and I think they could easily accommodate 30-40 people all in all? Parking should be a breeze if TT starts after working hours. Just a suggestion.

Second choice would be Asia Cafe. But could be a little noisy and problematic parking tho. However, food and drinks are really good. Many seats too.

Anywhere else?Err...hey PCYeoh:)...you should have been there earlier for the last TT session...then you could see the Mamak having the blackfaces...when we started to gather more tables n chairs...

Told you long time ago...that he doesn't like us gathering there...err...ya don't believe ar? Go ask Patrick lah...what the Mamak told everybody why...

In that case it is time to move on. He rather have no business than 20-30 of us. The last time YB Loh Seng Kok asked me to pay for the drinks, the amount came to about RM 54.00 for approximately 25 people. Can you tell us nowadays how much does the bill come up to? I roughly guess that averagely we have about 20-25 people nowadays.

Err...there were more than 30 pax on the last TT session...n the numbers would grow definitely...

kwchang
07-06-2006, 12:12 AM
The choice for the TT place should be a place for drinks since very few members actually eat. So we can't get angry with any mamak for that matter because if we use up his tables and chairs, he will be losing space for eating guests who pay more. Furthermore, I believe the mamak used to charge in round numbers like RM50 or RM60 for the whole bill - somewhat like he charge what he thinks he should get from us hogging his floor-space. If he were to itemise what we really drank, I am sure the bill would be much less.

Why not approach the management of a fast-food joint to allow us to use specific part of the shop for our regular meetings? We did have a community meeting once at the 3K complex's A&W outlet. That could be good because their upper floor is not really used.

mon
07-06-2006, 12:21 AM
Not such a good idea for those who smokes. :)

kwchang
07-06-2006, 12:29 AM
Yah, right, forgot about the smokers. Cancel air-conditioned joints then.

I would suggest Big-Boy in Taipan but unfortunately the shop front is too small to accomodate 30 members - otherwise it would be good for him if the whole bunch of us meets there. We could make his place look so popular. I really pity him when Big-Boy himself mopes in front of his empty shop.

mon
07-06-2006, 12:46 AM
Well, smokers could still go out for their puffs at the 3k a@w or other fast food joints. It's a neat idea actually, having tt in an air conditioned place. Hehe.. I remember it was pretty hot at the recent tt place. If it rains, could get more stuffy. :)
Big boy? Haven't been there. :)Perhaps someone should start asking and scouting around already.

alexhay
07-06-2006, 08:20 AM
Agreed with Chang...My cycling club have their regular meeting at Mcd's Centerpoint and the manager was really happy that we are there, even we only order drinks. And don't forget that the drinks are free refill :P

He even gave us discount card for us to use at any Mcd's restaurant. Once a while we will book the whole floor just to accomodate our meetings.

To those who smokes, they just walk outside and have a puff. Talk to A&W at SS13 there. There is a open space outside there so that the smokers can have their puff there. Ample of parking space. And I can drink my favo beer there...opss...i mean Root Beer...

PcYeoh, Asia Cafe is not ideal place for Cupid to pick up girls and have ONS (one nite stand). We go there cos food is nice and variety as well and mainly is to gather friends around without having mamak fellas showing black faces towards us'ma. That time when we had our Cupid session, we took 5-6 tables .. those workers there even help us to join those tables and ordered drinks. Not bad what .. who dare to chase us from there? And mind you, plenty of old folks were there too .. sittin' other corner of the cafes.

Err .. got some old folks also pick up girls from there ... hehe .. u can check that out! :p

Orchi's favorites at Khalifa...

1. Nan
2. Perut Kambing Curry
3. Roti Canai
4. TT is above average
5. Price is down to earth
6. Parking is free n available
7. Got big screen TV to watch WWF or World Cup matches.
8. Ample seating.

Orchi. I tried it the last time I was there. Kokomo said you highly recommend it. It was really nice :)

Penny might be right about tt at air-conditioned place. We don't wanna divide the group to smokers and non smokers. Smokers like Sakai would have to be 'out' most of the tt session :p

Simple'lah .. all sit at those open air area. Wanna smoke can smoke , wanna have fresh air also got.

Orchi-san ... apparently there are many of them have not & even tried them (perut kambing) before. So I guess most prolly, next tt session you'll diverting them these places. Hehe ... satay no big deal'lah .. maybe we can just ta pau from Satay Pondok there then bring it over to Khalifah if its allowed ar ..
