Chang. Just for fun since Jianwei has started this thread. Arguing is spelt as arguing and not argueing right?

:D

Thanks for the spelling check. You are right - arguing is correct. I have an old dictionary next to the PC which I check all the time. However, in th heat of the moment (when distributing bananas) I get lazy and just hentam blindly ;)

online dictionary says recalcitrant = disobedient or stubborn person

my dictionary (American Heritage Dictionary, 1983 version) says it means "stubbornly resistant to authority or guidance"

I prefer the one in my dictionary - describes accurately some of the plantation conscripts ;) :)

HeeHeeHee, we can make it fun to learn a new English word a day in the Forum too eh? Not that we are all bad in English but there are some words which we seldom use hence we never check the real meanings even if we had seen it before. For example, I had to check the word "conscript" to be sure it was what I wanted it to describe.

jianwei85
29-05-2006, 01:27 AM
hmm..aristocracy meant a system of government with "rule by the best"

kaki means member/fren --so "rule by best fren"? hahahaha

I think I got one for dirty jokes. I thought I wanted to spew all my banana related jokes onto the forum ala YOU ASKED FOR IT but on second thought I cooled down and decided otherwise or else I will get the Pisang Rajah loh. Another observation I made is that how come Chang is very reluctant to give banana to the fairer sex except one lately. Is he afraid that the ladies will scream "sexual harrassment???"

jianwei85
02-06-2006, 12:17 PM

Aisey... simple deduction lah .... guys are the ones making the mess. Ladies are smarter, get the silly guys to do the begging for the bananas. But of course, only the older members would remember the Queen banana who helped me start my banana plantation. Ask orchi and PCYeoh during the TT session for a brief documentary. ;)
