Thanks for the spelling check. You are right - arguing is correct. I have an old dictionary next to the PC which I check all the time. However, in th heat of the moment (when distributing bananas) I get lazy and just hentam blindly ;)

online dictionary says recalcitrant = disobedient or stubborn person

my dictionary (American Heritage Dictionary, 1983 version) says it means "stubbornly resistant to authority or guidance"

I prefer the one in my dictionary - describes accurately some of the plantation conscripts ;) :)

I think I got one for dirty jokes. I thought I wanted to spew all my banana related jokes onto the forum ala YOU ASKED FOR IT but on second thought I cooled down and decided otherwise or else I will get the Pisang Rajah loh. Another observation I made is that how come Chang is very reluctant to give banana to the fairer sex except one lately. Is he afraid that the ladies will scream "sexual harrassment???"
