I saw yesterday program at TV3 My team played against Kedah (don't know where and when) with quite a huge crowd in the stadium. Myteam lossed 0-3. All goals were scored in the first half.
Myteam were at Old Trafford to watch the last game against Charlton last week and they were to play at old Trafford against MU academy or reserve team the following day. The result, don't know! Got to see it next week Tuesday 10.00pm TV3. The trip is sponsored by Air-Asia.

Spot on....many in Football arena thinks so...the latest news is that (might not be true), national Team would not be playing against Myteam...pride sake...just in case if they were to loose?!
If I'm not mistaken, they would be fielding under 21 team? ....wait and see lah... :)

then like this what for..this will bring down the morale of the My Team... they were looking forward to play against the national team....and they work so hard for this...
if they are scared, then ask them to quit playing football and go back to do other things. what the heck is happening to malaysian football
During the 80's, Korea and Japan even dare not to play against our national team...as we are known as the trashing boys...but now we are known as the whipping boys..
If want to have back their pride, play against My Team...

As I said...it might as well be just a rumors…no confirmation yet…they would only announce a day or two before the game…so no one would know about it?!....
But...until we hear something, we should not jump the gun...shooting them down...probably its my mistake...shouldnt have opened my mouth (or rather my fingers?! :)

With these kinds of hype, everyone will be gunning behind MyTeam to beat the National side. Doesnt matter which age group. It will damage FAM and the National sport not only in terms of the sporting aspect but the development, marketing and the PR aspects of the game as well. I would suggest for MyTeam to carry on more seasons down the road and play with National teams and foreign clubs in the region and beyond. And put the FAM to shame once and for all and go for a major revamp for the good of Malaysia's National sport.

I'm a big fan of SHEBBY SINGH... he is doing this 'for the love of the game'. He is doing this without condition. If people question his qualification (if he has a coaching license), i can only say, question your own qualificaion.
A piece of paper don't mean anything to this world. This man got heart and he is contributing to the development of football in malaysia.
How many of you guys can say that? Look at the daily news condemning those medical doctors working overseas...
SHEBBY walks the talk and he is very knowledgeable.
Secondly, i've been following MYTEAM very closely. You can view all their episod here:-

Like any team event. People need to train together for long period of time to understand each other.. 1 month is hardly enough time to gel a team. what more to be super fit to play national team?
Fail or success, i totally support MyTeam.... And i hope they do this on a yearly basis

Yes, I too hope they succeed in the hope that some good can come out frm this episode. If the Malaysian sports administrators do ever learn frm their mistakes that is...

Football: Quartet impress Manchester United
12 May 2006
Arnaz M. Khairul
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FOUR of Malaysia’s Under-20 players have caught the eye of Manchester United youth manager Brian McClair, and if the latter follows up on his praises, the four will receive trials with the English giants.
The Malaysians surprised United’s Academy team on Wednesday, handing them a 4-1 thrashing at the club’s Carrington training facility, in a match that had McClair heaping praises on K. Rajagopal’s charges.
A perfect record of three wins out of three, with a total of nine goals scored and just one conceded means confidence is oozing in Rajagopal’s team.
The squad ended a 20-day training cum playing stint in Manchester with a perfect record of three wins.
The stint is part of the squad’s preparations for the Asian Youth Championship in India in October.
According to FAM secretary Datuk Seri Dr Ibrahim Saad, McClair stated that he was particularly impressed with twins Aidil Zafuan and Zaquan Adha Abdul Razak, Khairil Muhymeen Zambri and Amar Rohaida and he even said he would consider giving the four a trial.
In fact, Khairil was voted Man-of-the-Match by the coaches in the team’s 3-0 victory over Salford Academy last Wednesday. The squad’s other match, against the Stoke City Academy last Saturday, ended 2-0 in Malaysia’s favour.
Ibrahim also said the fact that United’s youth squad featured five of their first team players, served to add to the positive impact at the conclusion of the squad’s tour. Stoke City, whose academy side were beaten 2-0 by the under-20 team on Saturday, had also expressed their interest in Aidil and Zaquan.
"I think it should be made clear that the boys weren’t up against just any squad - Manchester United fielded virtually their strongest youth squad, and they were utterly surprised by our boys," said Ibrahim.
The Manchester United squad featured first team players Marcos Neumyr, Sam Hewison, Kieran Lee, Frasier Campbell and James Chester. In fact, Neumayr and Campbell played for their first team side in the testimonial match for former club captain Roy Keane at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
"McClair wasn’t just impressed, he told us he was embarrassed by the result as well as they’d expected to steamroll us. He was particularly impressed with our speed, technical ability and fitness," added Ibrahim.
Rajagopal, on the other hand, chose to play down the results, sticking to his aim, which is the AFC Asian Youth Championships.
"The purpose is still to get the boys as much exposure as possible and build their confidence against bigger, more physical players. Let’s not get too excited and give the boys unnecessary pressure," said Rajagopal.
"Give them room, let’s have some patience and you’ll see the real results in three or four years.
"Right now, the results are secondary. As I’ve always said the aim is the Asian Youth Championships, and that is still our first objective."
The squad heads for Slovakia for a three-match series tomorrow, where they will face two club sides, before taking on the Slovakian under-20 side on May 18.

good to see some players yet to experience a plane ride.
some don't even know that they're going straight to manchester, instead of london!
sad to see that they were not given some pocket money to buy souvenirs for their once in a lifetime trip to old trafford/manchester.
Ya...KH. It's nice to see some rookies play against the academy selection. They do create some interesting moves n shot. Should be a lot better as they play together later. The important factor is that the spirit must be there

the match starts 830pm. since tv3 is showing it live, then how to see the matches that the team played (and lost most of them!) after coming back from MU?
also per the VP of FAM on tv3 8pm news, the m'sia team to play agst myteam may be a m'sia selection, not the full 1st team of m'sia. and he also said that supporters of the M'sian team to wear yellow and myteam's supporters to wear blue.
methink the best myteam can do is a draw. my prediction? myteam to lose by 1 or 2 goals.
the m'sian u-20 team thrashed MU academy 4-1 while myteam drew 0-0 agst a weakened academy which included older players...
p/s: tv3's majalah 3 this sat 27/5 will be about football, including myteam.

Football: MyTeam spurned
-by RIZAL HASHIM -
SO, the much-publicised contest between a bunch of amateurs propelled into the limelight through a reality TV show and the Malaysian national football team this weekend, is not going to materialise.
Tak percaya? Well, if you look at these pictures, they tell you a thousand words.
The national team left for a seven-day stint across the Causeway yesterday and will only be back on June 1.
Potong steam, or in this case, potong MyTeam... But hold your horses.
http://www.mmail.com.my/Current_News/mm/Thursday/Sports/myteam.JPG
Before you spew obscenities and hurl abuse at the FA of Malaysia (FAM) and accuse the national team of running scared, you can still make your way to the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Sunday.
Instead of facing Norizan Bakar’s men, MyTeam’s rendezvous with destiny could be the national Under-20 side that are being primed for the Asian Youth Championship in India later this year.
There is also another possibility being bandied about the corridors of Wisma FAM; that MyTeam will be taking on a Malaysian Selection.
As to who will form the team, well, your guess is good as ours.
FAM general secretary Datuk Seri Dr Ibrahim Saad did not return Mailsport’s call but the mere fact that Norizan and his 30-man squad departed for Singapore via KLIA yesterday was proof they are unlikely to turn up at Bukit Jalil on Sunday.
The team are scheduled to take on their Singapore counterparts on May 31, three days after the clash with MyTeam. But why did they depart for the Lion City so early?
MyTeam coach Shebby Singh, who has been tuning up his band of 25 amateurs for the much-awaited, clash was tightlipped when contacted last night.
"I don’t know anything about it. I pick MyTeam, I don’t pick FAM’s team. MyTeam have a responsibility towards our fans and supporters to do our best no matter who our opponents are," said Shebby.
Word is, the Malaysian Under-20 side coached by K. Rajagopal have been earmarked for the match and will be strengthened by four or five senior players.
It has been reported that the reality TV show chronicling the project which airs on TV3 on Tuesday nights draws close to three million viewers each week.
The members of MyTeam were selected from trials held nationwide.
Whether they play the national senior team or a selection is out of MyTeam’s control. Had they foreseen this when the idea was first germinated, they could have "kao tim" with FAM.
MM says: FAM are having second thoughts probably due to the notion that MyTeam are not really in their class, based on their defeats to Kedah, Malacca Telekom and Johor.

Although MyTeam didnt play the 'real' National team (who tucked tail n went off to SG), they were commendable really. As I mentioned before, continue with this team and make it a quarterly affair and take on teams in the region. Most likely, before long, they could replace the National team when they consistently churn out better results (in terms of sporting adventure and viewership) than FAM.

1. looks like myteam players need more fitness training.
2. why team capt, hazmizan, so rough? as the leader he ought to lead by example!
3. amir was caught out by the 2 free kicks - the 1st by wrong positioning; the 2nd, per him, he slipped! good to see that it's hard to put one past him in the normal run of field play. he did well to stop kedah in the 2nd half when he came in for the other keeper.
4. SS said that they intend to enter myteam into the m-league. good to see if this happens and with 3 million viewers maybe m'sian football can be saved.
5. methinks the u-20 team played better when the 3 seniors were taken out, and this team maybe better than the national team! no wonder fam didn't field them.
6. overall, a good showing by myteam after just 2-3 mths together agst the u-20's which were together 2 yrs. let's see if we can get something going after this instead of disbanding the team.
7. will there be a myteam season 2?
JayChou

There is going to be season 2.
The problem is getting Malaysia team to play. But Khairy said, if malaysian play don't want to play, they'll get foreign team to play, maybe Wigan or Japan league team or singapore league team.

Agree with KJ. Take on foreign teams and forget abt the FAM 'National' sides. Before long, the rakyat would probably be thinking that MyTeam is actually the National side. Bungkus the FAM then, altho Najib may not be too happy as he has plans to relocate the National side to the UK when he starts to build the Elite Sport Academy there. :D

fam's agreeable to myteam entering the m-league but the team hv to go thru the proper channel, i.e., get registered with a state affiliate, play in the state league and earn their qualification to the BIG time!
imagine how much mileage tv3 & kj can squeeze from the weekly reality updates!
