ERrr ... good to know you lost that much but then u were saying you wanted to share wif us? So what is it? No remedies to share in here other than tellin' us your lost 8kg????
First post and wanting to share weight loss tips?
Sounds like the usual spam, bot, or a direct sales agent that's why no one bothered to reply.
And then kokomo came back from vacation and invited the thread starter to open the can of worm... :p
There goes the neighbourhood...... hehehehe, have fun... :D :D

Yes, it does sounds like it. But if the can is not open .. then we would not know if its a worm or baked beans ....
I'm sure we've all spotted a few of these 1 liners 1 time posters in a number previous thread, things like immunology nutrition(an E.E***l sales gimmick), ionized alkaline water(some water co. products) and other direct sales agents etc, etc.
Yea, no harm keeping an open mind n see what they r trying to promote, maybe their intentions are good, but if they go over the board, the banana-man is always ready.... :D

I've heard of herbalife. It's another new MLM company in the market. Product also very very expensive. At least to me. Can you imagine that, RM400++ for that product to consume.

Yikes. Told you. My bro was totally into Xenical when he was very desperate to lose weight at one time. Those blue pills in capsules huh. You are so right. He couldn't even laugh or else his laughter would come out from the rear! And talk about oily..aiyer..Don't ever eat curry or lemak food when you are into Xenical...no good.
But did it work for him? Yes, it did. :p He was religiously attending Fitness First at that time and lost a few good kgs and built some muscles. But man..he put those kgs back on after a year and now he looks like his sis again. Plump. Haha! :o
I also joined as Herb***** member even b4 they opened their office in KL lah! Tried the products but too expensive la, not worth it! Another wonderful MLM claim which i tried and discarded.
If u want to make money as an MLM agent by all means go ahead, if u can make money from it then the products u consume yourself are considered earned from the commissions lor.
We can probably get better results by paying less than RM200 a mth to work out at fitness centers (or free if u jog and exercise yourself) and watching our diet. If Herbalife extracted their nutrients from natural food source then why shd we pay for their expensive processing and MLM commissions? Eat direct from the natural source ler...
Yes. I believe eating less fattening food, having a balanced diet with more fibre, good carbo, or more fruits and vege and drinking lotsa water would be more rewarding and cost saving. And probably the healthier way to lose a substantial amount of weight, gradually and maintaining it.
Some sort of home exercising, walking your dogs or jogging would be beneficial as well. Good for those who do not have time to join a fitness program.

ya, ya. Should avoid siew yok especially fatty and crispy ones and also the chee yok char... or pork knuckle .. but yummy wor ... :p ;)
Oh, and if u lose weight by dieting u will lose water first, muscle tissues second, then only the fat tissues, so think carefully about it!!
Muscle tissues are what maintains your metabolism and keeps burning those calories even while resting. No point getting skinnier n skinnier if we r losing muscle tissues, end up being a weakling.

And I don't believe in dieting anymore. :)

:)
That's precisely what I'm doing now. Skipping lunch as many days as possible. I lost around 2 kgs just over 3 weeks... But I was not targetting 8 kgs wor. Just for personal reason I'm doing that can... ;)
Mon, I sometimes go to the shop in SS14..the Hong Kong siew lup..something.. shop which sells siew yuk, siew kai, siew cheong and siew ngap(duck). Not bad.. or the roasted duck in PJS10 opposite sunway pyramid used to be very famous one. :D
On the topic of crispy chee yau char, I always ask for extras on my fook keen chow :D But only consume the dark oily fattening noodles once a month or less lar. Now eating more organic food, veggies and fruits, oh, and egg omeletes without yolks, hehehe :D

For more info on
Xenical (http://www.healthsquare.com/newrx/xen1529.htm)
Yes. Xenical has many side effects and it does not go easy even after a long term usage. As long as you continue to intake oily food, you would have oily evacuation (stool) and fecal incontinencies. Milder for those who give up oily food when on Xenical (ironically one should be able to intake just about any kind of food when on Xenical, that is supposedly to be the beauty of it, haha!) but it would be horrifying for those who have just tried it. No matter what, one must limit their food intake. See, there's no such thing as a pill who would do all the weight losing for you, without any side effects.

IMHO, if you have a couple of kgs extra against your BMI, it's ok. Taking into consideration of your bone density and muscles mass of which it's heavier than fats. Usually it's around 5kg, provided if you have muscles & heavier bone density.
Everyone is unique. Some, with diets work and some with exercising works extremely well. But nevertheless, exercise is essential for everybody, be it for weight management or health reasons.
Some swore by Atkins diet by reducing their carbo intake but again if you want to stay energetic, focus and alert through out the whole day at work, this is not a good option as all of us are paid to perform at our optimum capacity! BUT you could reduce your carbo intake at night or just go for high fiber foods. This would greatly help you to reduce weight and stay healthy. Of course with some exercises would help you to achieve your goals in the shortest period.
Ultimately, for those who is looking into weight management, be very sensitive with your calories intake. You could learn and manage you diet well. It's just like a salesperson in a company, he's always sensitive with his sales figure. If figure is shortfall, he would start to crack his head for ideas on how to achieve it. Then, some actions are being taken. If no sales figure is given, he has no direction to head too.
And finally, for those who wants to trim off some kgs, you could start it with a very realistic goal, 1 pound per week. Get yourself a weighing machine and monitor your progress everyday. If by the 3rd day of the week with no progress, you have the remaining 4 days to work on. Imagine, in 3 months you could lose 12 pound (5.45 kg). To some, you may think it slow but bottomline, you've lost 5 kg! And finally punya finally! it all up to you and how determine you are to achieve your goals. Truly, it's up to you.
There's a saying "Eat well and you'll live well", which I find it very true.
P/S: If you are an obese, you seriously need all the above and probably consult a doctor. Just for the record, I was an obese before.
Arbiter. How obese were you before? I mean..how much weight have you lost? and how long did it take you? Thanks. :)

Wow. You were as skinny as me a decade ago! Now...so embarrasing if we were to compare but I'm good. And happy.
I was 49kgs then and for my height (165cm) I was too skinny and my collar bones were showing. I starved myself and went on crash diets almost everyday. I was pale and many swore that I looked yellow and sometimes blue as well!
So I would never do that again, unless in extreme depression then I wouldn't be able to eat. Other times, I just eat in moderation and I have no second thoughts having an occasional supper and teh tarik. Much happier now. :)

Mon,
I've lost 25 kgs then gained 3 kgs of muscles. :D All over a period of 9 months.
Well, after going through all these agonies, I mean for the first 2 months, I'm beginning to enjoy it now and it's like a "a must" routine thing to do.
Wow. 9 months?? You must be having something like a 6 pack of muscles already ya? That is really a great achievement. I hope you have taken before and after shots of yourself.
But arbiter, is it healthy to lose that much weight in such short time?

Well, healthily, 1 kg per week and for obese, it could go up to max of 1.5 kg per week. At the initial stage, I'm flushing more water than burning fats and I really enjoy those moment as it was so encouraging to see the weighing needle constantly go down. I came to period where my weight was quite stagnant and therefore I changed my diet and workout program, but the progress is slower though. That's why keeping a log of your progress and constant monitoring is very important.
Wow. Amazing. You do sound like a fitness instructor. Are you one? Come on. Admit it!! :D

After reading all this, as of last week, I started to get the inspiration to get in shape. It is not that I am out of shape; I do have a shape, i.e. pear shaped.
First thing is, to stop intake of all those lards and be charitable, which is why I given them all to Mon in her changs. My cholesterol and fat cells used to have fun terrorizing various parts of my body, but since my “change in eating habits” (man shouldn't use the word diet as it is so lady like), I am now going to have the last laugh.
I eat a lot of fruits now, and non-fat mud like yoghurt and pet rabbit food. Garbage food like chips, goreng pisang and bacon grease is a no no. Also trying cheaper versions of Herbalife which is a good quick fix. Have to do this quietly as it is too womanly (just like diet), whereupon some quick fix called Muscle Man would be more appropriate. Anyhow, problem with quick fixes is that, those fat cells come back with their new found friends and wreck havoc revenge as soon as you stop taking it. And the taste of those quick fixes is awful – even the chocolate flavour. If someone try to sell you one saying it taste like Cadbury chocolate - they are lying!
And I am following my doctor’s advice. No, he did not recommend Xenical although I would love PCYeoh to have a taste of it in the joke section. The doc recommends that I drink lots of water, 8 litres a day. Sound logical as you can’t eat anything when you need to be in the washroom most of the day.
And as recommended, I have also tried embarking on some physical activity – the gym and not the bedroom type (although that would be helpful). I have realized how important physical appearance is after watching all the James Bond re-runs on Astro. You will not end up with the heroines if you are out of shape.
And how much weight have I lost the past week by going through this torturous regimen…………..8 grams!! Not bad for a beginner, right?!

A method that has never failed me yet, suffer a broken heart and lose apetite for days.
...I eat a lot of fruits now, and non-fat mud like yoghurt and pet rabbit food.
Yucks! to those non-fat mud! :D
And YUCKS to those Herbalife type of diet supplement/meal replacement programs too. :D
But then, in a way I hv to thank those kind folks at Herbalife 2yrs ago for bringing my attention to healthy living, hehehe :D It brought about a rethinking of my lifestyle and eating habits and I decided to kick the sedantary lifestyle and get more active and started eating right and exercise.
I stopped herbalife products after the first 3 days la.... those meal replacement drinks taste yucky and full of artificial flavoring and made me burp, the smell of fake strawberry or chocolate flavor is really nasty when the gas comes back up from your stomach. And the stuff actually made me hungrier, hahahaha!
My wife finished up the trial pack and manage to lose some 2-3 kg which quickly came back later. :p These stuff are so full of caffeine which is a diuretic, that's why u can lose 1-2kg in the first few days, the weight loss is mostly from purging of water.
After starting to exercise vigorously 3-4 times a week for a year, I've regained some of my former fitness level, but still remain at the same weight(maybe some flab was replaced with muscle?). But at least now i can run n jog without getting out of breath, and can match the pace of those extremely fit pretty young things on the next treadmill :D Oh, and I'm quite proud that I can begin to lift myself up the chin-up bar for certain repititions, hehehe, compared to some guys 20yrs my junior who can't do a single rep. Couldn't do that for years alreadi :p But still have a long way to go lah, can never be as fit as younger days but at least maintain in decent shape for a few more years la.
Sunwaykid, 8 grams for a start is pretty good what, :p Keep it up!

How did u measure down to the last gram? The best consumer type digital scales I know measure down to 100g resolution only. Your weighting scale must be very keng one!

I thought normally, when someone is broken hearted and normally women .. they would divert their attentions to food ma .. so how can they lose appetite?
Anyway, Eve ... I didn't mean to hide from you, just that don't wanna tell you so early only. Let me lose weight first then only inform you ma. NOw you're losing weight faster than me. Ish ... cannot let you know. :p
Most of us here are sort of yo-yo diet kind of ppl .. cos we go on diet then after we see a bit of results .. we're so happy, therefore we go celebrate by spoiling ourselves wif good food & bad food (lards & char siew & etc.) See, how to consistently maintain ourselves'lah. Go out wif friends, drink lagi .. sleep late also affect ones diet.
Nowadays I choose to sleep early if can. Hehe .. most of the time cannot'lah. :o

Aiseh...PJS, no platinum card lah, if got, already engage professional trainer or go fitness centre, no need DIY! Got McDonalds, Bonuslink, ATM, Sunway Pyramid and Zen Discount card though.
I learn the weighing trick from the puzzle thread in the main forum. First, you weigh yourself on the normal scales. Then, you take out all the accesories and weigh it in the kitchen baking scale, you then minus one with the other and viola, you get the 8 grams! When one is really desparate, every gram matters.
:)
If I don't lose another kg by next week, I'm not gonna friend myself. Haha! But very difficult for me. Got changs coming tomorrow le..

Cause if we lose weight drastically .. we'll put on weight tremendously as well .. and thus, we won't have control over our body anymore.

I was 49kgs then and for my height (165cm) I was too skinny and my collar bones were showing. I starved myself and went on crash diets almost everyday. I was pale and many swore that I looked yellow and sometimes blue as well! :)
Mon. Same case as me. During my flying days, I used to be 50kgs too. Hardly ate and worked out like crazy! Go for buffet, only can touch the salad section. Had occasional gastric attacks. I looked unhealthy and pale and tired. My friends told me I was too skinny for my height but I didn't care cos I thought I looked good. Now, many years later... I am happy that I am enjoying life and actually eating food! Chinese people say ' Sek tak yau fok', rite? Eating is prosperity. I know that meaning now :)
Peter. Deal ar, I diet now then you take me as your PA for your phuket day trip ar? :p

Most of us here are sort of yo-yo diet kind of ppl .. cos we go on diet then after we see a bit of results .. we're so happy, therefore we go celebrate by spoiling ourselves wif good food & bad food (lards & char siew & etc.) :o
That's me you're talking about :D

You're right. Yoyo is never healthy. I sure would like to gather up all my will power and get a regular exercise routine. Eat and exercise to maintain a healthy and fit body. Sounds good, huh?

Yes Yes. Just be ourselves and enjoy life yes? There is a time for everything, just don't overdose ourselves and eat in moderation ya.
But I'm telling you Eve, I could have beef noodles every single day and will never get tired of it. :p

Arwen .. I think the purpose of us wanna lose weight is not b'cos we wanna be skinny. I was once skinny .. then stop workout only .. my body mass change into a balloon style.
Anyway, we lose weight and workout is to make ourselves feels better, more confident, and most definitely can store in more food after that. Haha .. :D I do notice nowadays, quite a number of ladies also don't prefer guys too thin, muscular .. in fact they want fat and cute guys .. like ahem!!! ahem!! :D Yours truly me ..

True true. Being healthy is the word here. Not a matter or skinny or chubby. Hehe .. if fat it means on the way to obesity.
Mon, yesterday only I just had my first chang. Hehe .. :D fabulous. Request my dad to buy from New Sea View, PJ.
