Not all car prices go down. Only those local and CKD car, but not MPV, 4WD or SUV. In fact, all CBU car prices will increase.

I don't think MyVi's second hand car value will go down significantly. If it down, it should be less than RM1K.

I remember that when our petrol was increased, the government said that we have among the lowest in the world.

How come those people, namely, our PM, DPM and others did not say now with the NAP implementation, that we have the among the lowest car prices in the world? Or even ASEAN?

What a hypocrite!

The 2nd hand proton car has dropped so much. The Iswara model 1996 registered in 1997, a few days before the announcement still can sell at RM9-RM10K but now only worth RM7K  It's really not a good time to sell but no choice as the car is old, wrong timing!

i heard almost half of 2nd hand car dealers in KL are not accepting anymore trade-in due to the reduce price in new car. Before the reduction,2nd hand car dealer already find it hard to do business. Looking at current situation I think soon there will be more 2nd hand car dealer go bangkrap. :(

my suggestion to you is no point selling at all, drive until the car totally rot then get another car. :D

I totally agree with you. Take a 7yr loan, or even 9yr, and use it till the end.

You are just kidding around. Right? You can land yourself into very serious trouble with comments such as this.

The way I look at it with prices of car coming down will also mean that 2nd hand car dealers will go bankrupt very soon. If they go kaput, how are we to sell off our old cars? If we cannot sell off old car, how to buy new one? Better use your car till it goes kaput like what KevC said and withhold buying new car till the gomen goes on their knee begging us to buy car. This way we the consumer can practice consumer power to force the car price further downward.

I know someone who other than the first few service would not service his car at all until he trade it in after 5 years. His rationale is that when he trades it in for his next, the salesman does not normally check the internal condition and all the servicing required are gimmicks for the manufacturers to make more money.
Besides, he has no intention to keep the vehicle as one of his eternal possesion and he says he saved a few grand from not servicing, which more than compensate him for any shortfall that he might get for the trade-in!

That is one economic theory I think Adam Smith missed out. You may seriously consider to copyright this. I mean it.
