2 days ago around 7.30pm while my brother driving was on the way home to Taman Bukit Kinrara - Puchong, he was stop by 2 malay police road block, one is in plain cloth and the other is in uniform both without their id card on their shirt.
They flag down my brother car to stop and one of the police straight away went to his boot and flash his tourch light at the boot,he happen to have a few bottle of new car octane boster in his car boot. The police accuse him that those things is stolen stuff, straight away they pull out their gun and point at my brother head, demanding him to step out from his car. My brother try to ask for the reason of their accuse and he didn't even resist or do anything drastic, the police straight away handcuffed both his hand to the back and order him to squat on the floor and leave my brother bag hanging on his neck. They shut off his handphone and don't allow him to make any phone call at all.

The police didn't take the so call "stolen stuff" with them when they detained by brother and bring him down to the puchong main police station. My brother car were left at the road side right where they set up the road block.

In the police station they threaten my brother by saying that they will sent my brother to jail for three months becos of the stolen stuff which he right fully paid with his own money. After they detained him in the police station for 3 hours, finally the two police mention that if my brother want no trouble he should pay them both RM200. Here they also denied him to make any call. He was get surrounded by more thn 10 more police there, this really make him stunned and scare, since he is so young and its the first time he kena such kinda things. Sensing that if he don't pay they will frame him,he was force to obliged. They run thru my brother wallets and know there is not much cash there,so they again bring my brother to one of the nearest atm machine to get their money. Then they drop my brother off where they set up the road block.
Now he is having phobia everytime he saw police and everyday he pass by that stretch of road on the way home.

Can I ask for all the fellow good peoples here what is the recourse that my brother have for such an injustice done to him? He was a good citizen all his life. I really feel sad for my brother and at the same time feel so angry at the police,i totally don't trust police will help us poor citizen anymore. All the anti-rasuah campaign seem to be is more to campaign ambil-rasuah and rompak suka suka! :(

Can anyone tell me what can i do to ease the situation?

Err...dear Sato-san:)...Orchi suggests better that your brother make a trip to Bukit Aman HQ...to file a formal complaint report...n let them do their investigations into the incident...

The real question here is, DO WE TRUST THE POLICE? Do we trust them our lives (yours, mine, your son's and daughter's, wife's, girlfriend's, boyfriend's, mother's, father's, minister's(....why should we care?)). The fact here is, one bad experience will ruin our lives forever if we can't climb out of this experience.

The next question is, who is the police to rummage through the poor kid's wallet for money and then has the balls to get him to withdraw for more from the ATM machine. The Bukit Aman, if they truly care, can request the bank for the security video footage. Of course, that might not reveal anything if the black-sheep-police might just stay in their cosy vehicle and directed him to withdraw the money on his own which the bank would have the withdrawal records of course.

On both side of the coin, what happenned to his right to attorney? You know the worse part? Without any access to any phone, his family would log a missing person police report on some other police station...then what? Kidnapping by police?

In general, i never trust the police to do anything, they don't respond to emergency phone call on time, they don't even inform you if your car break-in case was closed. I believe they will take the easiest way out, let the crime take its course, then come in close the case. Why risked everything when you're only 1k++ malaisia linggit? On the other hand, 2500linggit for every case close and prosecuted. NOW we're talking!

Bottom line: Pay-Peanuts-Get-Monkeys. In this case, even if you pay more, you'll still get Monkeys.

Every time I see the Bukit Kepong the Police movie on the telly, I just shut telly off or turn to the next channel. Why? Propagandist trying to immortalize yesterday heroes as today’s heroes.

'Nuff said.

Quick - call the DAP and have a press conference. Then follow up with a complaint to Suhakam.

Those ******* won't know what hit them when the proverbial s**t reaches the fan!

Just do what Orchi suggested. And don't say anything more here until you come back with a police report on the matter. Until you do that, I doubt what you say here especially the RM 200 thing and the ATM machine. If you are not willing to nail them, just keep this unpleasant incident to yourself.

this depends on how far your brother is willing to go to fight this.
depending on which police station they took him to, go to the local assemblyman's office to lodge a complain. if it's mca, go to mca, if it's dap's, go to dap [yey! theresa!]. ask them to accompany your brother to the policestation to make the report. if possible, ask them to get the press to come with you. in this way, if the police dares to harass him, the press will be "on call" for the expose. report it in bukit aman. your brother's wallet, atm card would have fingerprint evidence on it. surrender only the atm card. the wallet, don't offer to them. retain it for safekeeping in a plastic bag, prefarably with the yb together with a sworn affadavit that it's in their safekeeping, in case their labs "lose" the atm card.

Can anyone tell me what can i do to ease the situation?
if your brother just wants to put it behind him, but you can see that it is affecting him more than what he is able to bear, you may want to ask him to call the befrienders. 603-79568144/5 http://www.befrienders.org.my/services.htm

i really hope that he exposes their sick act. but i can also understand the rationales to keeping quiet :( negaraku.... oh negaraku...

I suggest since it happened in Puchong police station, you should go to the MP of puchong, Mr Lau yen peng, his office is in Gerakan branch in Puchong puteri just opposite Giant puchong.

It is useless going to Bukit aman. Approach mr lau and see how he can help you. He liase with the head police there in Puchong jaya.

Make sure you can identify the corrupt police officers.

What you have posted Sato san, is false arrest, intimidation, extortion, corruption, wrongful detention, all rolled into one by the all mighty police in one episode.
I suggest you be very careful when making these very serious accusations in a public forum, not that I am saying what you said is unbelivable.
You should first of all, consult an experience lawyer or a trusted police officer known to you,and get their opinions on the option/s ( if any) available to your brother. If there are, then plan/consider your next course of action. But please don't go shooting off your hip...it might just backfire.
Good luck.

The suggestion earlier to go via your Puchong MP is a good idea. Have them assist you in dealing with Bukit Aman and the police investigation, in the proper way.

Like the 'woman in the bus' who stood up to the authorities, may you and your brother find justice.

Have you ever dealt with the police directly ? My friend last time reported on a corrupted traffic police to a superintendant and he didn't do anything.

And a lot of other cases I will not mention here. What about the recent cases of naked squat, bald head where they shoot the messenger instead of themselves ?

The best approach is to contact the Puchong MP.

I don't think Sato and his brother is ready to do anything for justice or trying to nail down the corrupted polis. His brother having phobia and he is angry, I guess what they need now is counselling.

Sato, definitely your bro is not the first one to be abused by the police. Step forward and get the issue unveiled in order to straighten the whole police team for the sake of this country. What you do now will benefit the rest.

Get your MP involved as if this is true, it is best you have someone to help you deal with the cops. Having your MP backing is good.if he is not supportive, then go to DAP. Then take Orchi's advise(not all cops are bad and corrupt) and refrain from posting here until your case is dealt with.Hope they were there at the ATM machine as that is proof that you can use. Not sure about the police station incident, ten of them.wow!

how sad.. that we need connections to settle such stuff. What about common joes..who do not have friends at high places... die la... swallow the S***. So much for justice for the common people.

BTW..how would one train our kids for such situations ?

It that the job for our MP?
For lack of a better infrastructure (like the IPCMC) and political will to deal with this rot, MPs will have to play this role for the time being lor.

So, yes .. go to your MP and State Assemblyperson. CC a copy of your complain to SUARAM and/or the Opposition parties' public complains bureau just to add a bit of pressure on ;) PM me if you want the contact info of some of these bodies.

The way to deal with these "police" is to not let them intimidate you. They can take you to the police station and all but when they ask for your wallet, or if they want to strip search you, ask for your lawyer. You to be brave and say that you will not coorporate unless you have your lawyer.

At that point, they will be "scared" and will less likely to victimise you. Hope this helps.
