Student Beaten Up by School Bullies

ALOR STAR: A Form Five student was hospitalised here after five schoolmates allegedly beat him up.

Mohd Yusrizad Yaacob, 17, suffered a fractured rib and injuries on his body when the boys allegedly pounced on him outside SMK Hutan Kampung here on Wednesday.

He claimed that the bullies attacked him after he complained to the school's security guard that they had “behaved indecently” with their girlfriends in the school compound.

He is reported to be in a stable condition at the Alor Star Hospital.

About two weeks ago, nine Form Two boys of a residential science school in Kuala Pilah, Negri Sembilan, reported that they were beaten up by a group of about 15 seniors over the refusal of one of the junior students to give his money to a Form Four schoolmate.

There have been several incidents involving school bullies in various schools nationwide last year and, at one juncture, the Sultan of Pahang had to step in to warn students of a school in his state to get out if they were in school to cause trouble.

In the recent incident here, Mohd Yusrizad, from Jalan Datuk Kumbar, said he was riding home on his motorcycle at about 7am on Feb 28 after attending a school sports meet when the five students waylaid him at a secluded place at Jalan Hutan Kampung.

They stopped him and started punching him all over his body, he alleged when met at the hospital yesterday.

After his attackers left, he rode back to his house and told his father about the incident, Mohd Yusrizad said.

Lorry driver Yaacob Yahya, 49, said he took his son to lodge a report at Langgar police station on the same day.

“While we were making the report, my son complained of pain on his back and the right side of his body.

“I immediately took him to the Alor Star Hospital,” he said.

Kota Star district deputy OCPD Supt Aznan Hussein said police had called up the five students for questioning.

“We are still waiting for Mohd Yusrizad’s medical report before taking further action,” he said.

...............

Is this a serious situation in schools nowadays? Would appreciate if you would share your views and experiences - whether you have gone through such terrible experiences yourselves or perhaps your children are facing them now? However, if you are the bully and others are at the receiving end, would sure love to hear your views and experiences also!

My bf used to be a bully. I didnt like it but he always had a 'good' reason for it (or what he considered a good reason). He said younger students should 'respect' their seniors. In other words, worship them and give them way in whatever they want. But the truth was he did things like that only because his friends thought it was 'cool' to be bullies. Friends that had severe issues at home and in their lives. When he stopped mixing with them, he changed...

I think its a peer pressure thing. And mostly instigated by children who are disturbed n looking for attention...

Yes, "something's not right"......don't see anything wrong with the "perpetrator" though.....he's just a kid :D

Is this a joke?

What surprises me though.....

Posts that comment about bad service/behavior or bad food/product, etc....... are not allowed to name the shop or proprietor, etc ......however bad behavior labeled as 'mischief' from a young kiddo [who's just 'being a kid'] is being allowed to be posted here complete with "his name and the school he attends"

Eddie's [if he exists] infamy is now enshrined on the WWW for eternity.....and he's just 7 :heheheh:

Eddie's too young to sue, I suppose
