Hi, I am a volunteer worker for the spca and at the moment we are collecting signatures to a petition to be handed to the PM. This petition is to establish rights for animals, give empowerment to the spca and increase fines, etc for those found guilty of mistreating and abusing animals. Once found guilty the person should not be allowed ownership of a pet again. I have been going around collecting signatures and now ask if there is any way you can help me in my quest to get more signatures.

I don't know wether this will work but I am a Form 5 student in SMK Taman Connaught, and maybe you can come to my school or go to other schools to get more signatures. :o

In case most of you are not aware, the Department of Veterinary Services, Malaysia (DVS) is the authority empowered to act legally on cases that bring cruelty to animals. Please read the webpage on this matter - http://agrolink.moa.my/jph/dvs/enforcement/animal-cruelty.html

The SPCA is an animal shelter and do not have legal rights to enforce laws on animal cruelty. I wonder if this request will be entertained since the DVS is the recognised authorithy.
