I don't remember having to do any special settings. I did remember vaguely that during the setup, the ZA app will detect and ask you to confirm that the PC is connected thru a LAN or DSL link. Hmmmm... or perhaps that was the setting for the ADSL modem?

As kwchang said, I dont think there is any special setting needed. If you could describe your problem here in detail, maybe we could assist further...

I'm using ZA Pro.My problems is :
1. I can't log onto the mail server if either I do or don't engage 'Internet Lock'.
2. The same goes for I.E .
Question :
Should I set some expert rule ?
Remark : I've included a screenshot.
are you running on a single pc?
perhaps selecting 'this computer is not part of an ICS/NAT network' might help.'
a show of your zones setting would help

I don't know about you guys, but ZA gives my computer headaches. I can't install it in the first place (tried installing while running computer nude, tried re-downloading the installation file; tried scanning the computer for malwares and viruses before installing; tried re-installation; tried rebooting the computer several times), but to no avail. In the end, I downloaded and installed SPF (Sygate Personal Firewall). No issues with it at all so far.
Cheers :)

I don't think you are suppose to lock the Internet in ZA under normal usage?

I think Foo is right. I believe the Internet lock is the panic button for you to use if you think you are being attacked online and you need to block everything without pulling the internet cable off the socket. This is probably only useful for those connected thru a Local Area Network in an office environment. At home, we just pull the plug. So if you set internet lock on, it disconnects you.
For a ZA firewall, it actually blocks most access to and from the internet. Everytime an access is attempted, it will ask you permission to remember and allow that access. In that way you teach the firewall the acceptible data transfers. Just be aware whenever it asks you for permission to allow a specific access so that you don't open the access to the wrong activity - such as a tri\ojan trying to send emails out from your PC.
By the way, even with ZA on, you can still be infected by spyware because ZA actally allow normal Internet access. So you do need to install a spy-checker such as Ad-Aware (get the free personal edition).
