Hi, I would like to know where were all my emails saved to ( in the hard disk ) if I were to do a backup for all my Outlook Express emails ?
What file names should I need to backup just for emails ?
I am using a Dell desktop, with Window XP Pro.
Thank you in advance !
Goto Tools -> Options. Under Maintenance Tab, click on "Store Folder". The path shown is where your emails (and folders) are stored.
To back up, simply backup the entire "Store Folder" directory. i.e. copy it to a CD or archive it.
To restore (say another/new PC), on the Outlook Express of the new PC, select File -> Import -> Messages.
Then in the "Outlook Express Import" panel, select the program to import from. i.e. the Outlook Express program from the old PC. Should be Version 6. So, select "Microsoft Outlook Express 6", then click Next.
Next, in the "Import From OE6" panel, select "Import mail from an OE6 store directory". Click OK.
In the next panel, browse to your "Store Folder" directory, which you have backed up earlier (either on CD or un-zipped on to local harddisk). Click Next to finish. Outlook Express will restore and recreate all the folders and emails.

Big thank you to you HTH, you helped me to save RM208 just by your reply!
Called up Dell, they want me to subscribe to the software support which cost RM208 a year, then only will tell me how to backup the emails data, so I just try my luck in Layman's computer.

I normally change the store folder to a store folder in MY DOCUMENTS. That way I can backup more easily.
