The last 'battery charge' for Malaysian golfers was when Tiger show up for the World Championship a few years ago, what about another 'battery charge' in the interest of the golf games and I am sure many will agree with me. MGA and Maybank should seriously consider this as I believe we will be able to push this sport to the next level like in Thailand, Korea and Japan. We want Michelle!!! ;)

She won a lot of male audiences.................she is Sharapova in Golf.

There has been too much obsession (whether good or bad is up to the individual to determine as it depends on his sublime intentions and fantasies) with sports women. I remember during my younger days, most men were obsessed with Gabriella Sabantini, the tennis player from Argentina. Then it was Martina Hingis - now that she has made a comeback, I bet many are glued to the television watching how she arches back and to serve - and then it was and perhaps still is Anna Kournikova and Maria Sarapovoa. I believe some high up official did remarked that women badminton players should wear like women tennis players so as to make women badminton more popular. I remembered I watched Chris Evert at Wimbledon in 1976 and I thought her white outfit was out of this world. Now it is as sexy as my grandmother's dressing gown. Now it is Michelle Wie. How come nobody say anything about Venus or Serena Williams?

:p

Wrong. She is Anna Kournikova in golf because just like Anna, she has not won anything and probably would not!

I was drawing comparison of Wie to Kournikova. Not Sharapova. Both have not won anything of significance.

anna is a fading star

the recent crop of pretty sexy players will be replacing her.they all make it to the 3rd or 4th round of the A open

in other word besides look and the sexy slim figure, they can play against the best in the world -accomplished tennis players

Jose Mourinho

:) My point still is... since when are men so interested in women tennis? If all the players look like Venus and Serana Williams (they are great players), do you reckon women tennis would still attract so much male audiences? This is not addressed specifically to you, layman, but to everybody.

Maybank is sponsoring the Malaysian Golf Open which is part of the Asian PGA tour not the LPGA. The prize money currently stands at USD1.5mil with expection to jack it up annually to remain attractive even to Asian pros mind you. Do you think the Bank will dig deeper into their pockets for someone like Wie who hasn't even won anything, a very promising talent but she has to prove herself to wet the appetites of conservative banks.

agree with idolfan...give Michelle some time and she will even blow the guys away...In the interest of golf sport in Malaysia, the sport ministry should do something about upgrading the sport in malaysia esp. golf as well, rather than spending too much money in soccer...i am sure there will be alot sponsor would are more than willing to provide the buck....just imagine the new of tiget coming to malaysia a few years back..the golf busy shot right up the roof.

Idolfan & Wecare. Both of you may be absolutely right about Wei in the near future. But that is investing in some talents which may not materialise. Same as that idiot horse Assene Wenger who paid 12.5 million sterling pounds for 16-year-old schoolboy Theo Walcott. Now. That was either a lot of blind faith or plain stupidity. As for me, I paid for players who are already made such as 24 million sterling pounds for Didler Drogba and 24.4 million sterling pounds for Michael Essien (personally I think they are grossly over-priced but that it was my boss, Rom Abramovich's money and not mine). Although I have to admit I made the biggest mistake in my life when I signed Shaun Wright-Phillips for 21 million sterling pounds. That midget cannot even run without falling over. I am thinking of off-loading him to Selangor or Perak if they are interested.

i doubt they will ever invite her being not a muslim. I remember when Vijay Singh wanted to stay in M'sia and he applied for PR but was rejected yet we read in the papers of PRs involved in every imaginable crime. Those are the people they will like to invite definitely not her. :p

Jose Jose .. its not a may be.. its a sure thing barring any serious injury.

Chelsea were interested in Walcott too :) but the kid chose Arsenal. Mourinho is riding high at the moment so enjoy your nick while Chelsea is at the top. True test of a manager would be being able to survive the axe when their team is not meeting expectations... mourinho can't hold a candle to wenger or fergie.

Jose Mourinho

I don't want to go into discussions with my fellow managers, Fergie and Wenger with you la. I am a professional and the Special One. You think it is easy to be me? I was summoned to Rom Abramovich's office and was threatened with the sack after drawing with Charlton. My boss expects me to win every game. Now that is what I call 'expectations' - and not others who can make excuses (while drawing millions of sterling pounds in pay) about re-building their teams which seem to last into many seasons.

Tiger was payed lots of money for his appreance. The real tiger I mean, in case this website has a nick called tiger and is impersonating him. ;) Anyone wants to fork out big bucks for this girl? But bottom line is no wants to pay for her although the appearance will create some interest in the media. Tiger is in a league of his own and was worth all the money he was paid, not sure you will get the same buzz with Michelle ringgit for ringgit.harrington is top 20 in the golf world and will be here. So that is good for the game.

Please get you facts right here. I never mentioned I'm Tiger or Sly or anyone else. Can you please clarify what you accusing me of. I'm not some guy who claims to be from somewhere else while I'm living in usj/msia and claiming to be someone who I'm not!! Those who know me, know I'm from SJ .I'm not impersonating anyone but myself nor I'm a sicko who can't differentiate reality and fantasy or having multiple personality or think I'm someone I'm not and taking credit for it while I'm at it.

as for the eye of the tiger quote well that was a joke between me and my friend usj27resident and i've used that as a quote. is there anything wrong with that.or do you have an issue with it? It is a song after all.

chang - how far are we allowed to impersonate someone on this forum? are there any rules on this?

I am not impersonating anyone. I am using Jose Mourinho as a nick. It is just too bad that you don't like Chelsea and you were the one who got personal first (in another thread) when I was not even bothered with you. And you raised it here again, using words such as sicko etc. Is it because my team keeps on winning (well, we did lost to Middlesbourough and the whole of England declared a holiday), is it my boss Abramovich or is it me? Well... eat your heart out. Chelsea will continue to win games and the league. Now be a good lad and channel your anger elsewhere.

Let's be fair. Just for the record, I did not even know who was Rocky and I did not even have a conversation with him at all when he slammed me with this out of the blue in Post #36 of the Indonesian Tourist thread:

"jose,

lets get this straight. You are not the special one!! yes your nick is what it is. But in no way you are the special one. I've lots of respect for the true special one. He is the one who had all those success as you listed out. Lets not confuse everybody. The real special one will not be so happy if he knows someone is claiming to be him and taking credit for his achievements. And the special one for sure will have no time for usj.co.my nor have heard about it!!!!

Some can have a nick, say Albert Einstein, and then what..he is the man who found the equation E=mc2 thus we should all think that he is the real einstein(ok he is dead). maybe someone should sign a nick of your boss and push you around, will that be ok? So lets make a difference between reality and fantasy."

..............

I just do wish people would not cook up trouble out of the blue.

You can use the nick nevermind, but when you use strong terms like the above "my team, my boss Abramovich", you're sending a strong signal that says "I'm the real Mourinho" and we all know how ridiculous that is because you're born and raised in Malaysia. So be a good lad and channel that wackiness somewhere...the English channel perhaps.

By the way, I've had real friends, real people with the name Rocky, parents obviously liked the rambo series. I don't think they would find the sly joke funny at all.

First I have the most respect for the real Jose Mourinho!!! and when did I say I was not a Chelsea fan? Can you point that out! I think a Chelsea fan has more to be pissed cos someone is impersonating their manager and taking credit.

You use words like, I quote

Dr George. I believe he was also referring to me when he talked about those 'less inclined towards intellectual rigour'. It is a frightening thing when a person begins to think that he/she is superior to others. Hey. After all, I really cannot be that stupid after masterminding my team to beat Liverpool 2-0 and Everton 4-1. If any further refrences are required, please contact my employer, Roman Abramovich la.

:D and this are not the only ones. You keep refering yourself as I..... as in Jose Mourinho, more than a nick. If you are just a nick, who cares. And to top that you claim that I'm believing I'm someone else. You care to show me when? There is a line between a nick and the real person. One of them is not saying you are the person and taking credit for it. if you didn't do that, I would have not bothered with it. Why should we contact Roman, is he really your employer? see where you are heading.

BTW, was it declared holiday when Chelsea lost the other day? Really? Show us the proof. ;) anyway it is good you are finally said you are a nick and not impersonating him on this forum. Thanks for the clarification. You be a good lad. ;)

You have the right to self expression no doubt but when you're poking fun at people's nick, making fun of their signature/quote - is this not directed at somebody.

Chang,

Maybe you can rule on quotes like this and others like this. I'm not sure if the forum can be in trouble if someone goes on impersonating another person. I don't have any thing personal with Jose the nick but IMHO there needs to be a line defined so that we all can't simply just say we are so and so and make all kinds of claims/make believes on top of that. A nick is ok but if you keep claiming you are the real person, well... Over to you. :)

OK, I was not aware that in a Wie thread like this we would end up with deviations beyond the original topic. I was made aware by SMS that we have problems over here. I am seriously thinking of bananas ....

OK, you people, lay off the arguements. As I see it, Jose was just making fun and perhaps the reality of the costume-play was too much for some of you to handle. OK-lah, I'd like Jose to tone off the role-play and try other witty comments.

Let's restrict this thread to Wie or else keep away and don't hijack the topic. Thanks.

dunno why some are bothered by the special one's nick. I mean does anyone believe that the Chelsea boss (the geniune one) has time to come in here and chit-chat with us.

Let an old man have his fun lah. I think for some challenge in his life Jose should take over a club like Wigan and see if he can work his special magic. Probably even shabby shebby can achieve what Jose has done at Chelsea with Romans' millions.
