Went to Southern Bank @ SS15 yesterday. Caught in a massive traffic jam. Apparently MPSJ turned SS15 into a one way street. Still trying to figure out how to go to the market this Sat.

Which SS15 street are you referring to? SS15/4D

Where is Southern Bank? On the same stretch as McDonalds, Burger King, Public Bank, Maybank, etc?

Yes we use to be able to go straight to SBB thru MBB now cannot you must turn left after MBB no entry into SBB and from inti college you cannot turn right to asia cafe can turn towords Burker King I suppose. They reverse the whole stretch of road infront of asia cafe. Cars are coming out from there and turning in to Burger King

and you can no longer cut out from the maybank road to go up the npe ramp.. you have to go to ambank and then cut out to the roundabout and then go up the ramp...

That stretch is horrible with all of the double and triple parking.

If drivers didnt double park and triple park, then the street would be passable in two directions.

In fact, if they changed to parallel parking instead of angle parking, there would be far more road room.

Why doesnt the MPSJ invest more money into constructing parking decks at SS15? Because to be honest, most people wont use them....they will just continue to double and triple park if they can get away with it...

On the other hand, they really should remove the tow impound lot, it really is wasting valuable ss15 real estate.

Can I brag a bit. I'm glad that I do not have to face the infamous Subang Jaya traffic jam again. It always make me fell frustrated. Now that I am here, the only jam is waiting for the traffic light to turn green. What a bliss.....

Suggestion for those going to the SS15 banks facing NPE during busy periods :
- If going PBB or Maybank, park across road at SS17
- If going SBB or RHB, park along SS14 and cross using overhead bridge
This way, less stress & less traffic jam.

People were already complaining about the lack of parking space in SS15.

It's a joke to make changes without warning but people accept it...maybe we worry that complaints just make things worse :p

The one way traffic in this area could actually improve traffic IF everyone observes the new traffic flow and direction. As it is, there is no publicity on this exercise or press release to warn and inform motorist of the impending traffic change. Sure-lah there's going to be some problems! Does MPSJ think the public can digest the change and follow directional changes overnite and without prior warning or information? They must think we are psychics or wizards or something.

Currently, the traffic in that area is blocked off to public traffic to enable MPSJ contractors to re-draw parking lines, road directional signs and put in new 'No Entry' signage. But beware! The redrawing of parking bays has turned the road in front of the SS15 wet market and Asia Cafe into a narrow lane, just fitting one car's width, presumably to deter motorist frm double parking in that area. And because the road condition at this spot is quite bad, with potholes, you can bet that traffic will slow over this lane considerably, thereby, in turn, slowing all traffic flow entering into this area. I cant understand why MPSJ cannot re-tar this road in front of the wet market first before re-drawing the parking lines. The road condition has been deteriorating for a few years now but the authorities couldnt be bothered to rectify it. Real public apathy abt road maintenance by MPSJ!

It's time for the colleges to start screaming..

I've just seen this thing happening and it is horrible. Having traffic from Public Bank rd. and traffic passing the college heading to the same direction...what a foolish idea...build's up huge jams in front of Asia Cafe, Taylor's College and Inti College.

At the very least, MPSJ could block cars from parking on the stretch of SS15/8 beside the MPSJ towing impound lot (McDonalds and Starbucks are on the opposite side). Then they could have 3 lanes, two to exit to Jalan Subang Utama, and one to turn right and pass by McDonalds and Burger King.

I think the blocking of the exit beside maybank will last at least until the roundabout is changed to a traffic signal junction, since that will give more gaps in traffic flow...

All in all, another poor example of planning at MPSJ. Time to send letters to the newspapers.

Just curious, could all this have anything to do with the opening (soon?) of the permanent wet market in SS15?

Perhaps they are diverting traffic so the cars have to pass by the wet market...a small scenic tour, if you will.

If so, it would be a little more subtle than the signs from BN and the ones they use in North Am..."You Tax Dollars At Work"

Cheers, m.
