I watched this DVD movie (which I bought from Speedy - supporting good and worthwhile local show, buy Ori) about 1 year after it came out on the theaters. While I watched this movie 1 year late, I must say it is worthwhile paying my hard earned bucks to watch this very good show and something I could easily relate to. It is wittily humorous and yet has the X-factor that draws me into the show which many of the local show don’t seem to have.
I do have one burning question on this movie though, at the last part of the show, who answered Orked’s call?
Lastly, don't buy Sepet's pirated copy. It's only RM21 at Speedy for DVD copy. How many Yasmin Ahmad do we have in this country? Good directors need all the help they can get to transform our dying film industry around. Look at all the awards the movie has WON thus far (Sepet (http://www.sepet.com.my/) has won 3 out of 5 nomination, out of the 3 credentials one is an international recognition!)
To Yasmin and crew, my hats off to you and your motley crew. Well done indeed!

Indeed Sepet is a very rare local gem...
IMO is has a much much better production/story/dialog/actors than the much hyped Puteri Gunung Ledang
Too bad it doens't receive much support from the local gomen and local cinema
somemore they censored some of the scenes when shown in the cinema
like the scene where the botak guy (forgot his name) dance in his undie... and a few more that I can't remember :p
There's another masterpiece, Rabun from her that doens't make it to cinema also... :(

Sepet is a good show cos they have moral values in them and the typical malaysian way of the malays n chinese. A very good show to show my bulgarian friend to watch.
i love both Sepet and Rabun. i watched Sepet when i went to the Director's interview screening at UM last year. a lot of people asked that question: who answered orked's phone call? i think that one is upto the viewers to decide. it may be jason's spirit or it may be all in orked's head. i liked that ending....since their crying was genuinely done. (not the typical tearless act that you usually find on malay dramas) ohhh, and those who loved Sepet must watch Rabun! its just as good, and its hilarious! ;)

Before Sepet is 'Rabun' and after Sepet is 'Gubra' its not out yet.... Its a continuation of Sepet and I guess it would be the same story line with yet another inter-racial relationship issue. I'm not sure about 'Rabun' cos I'm not a fan of Yasmin... :p

Amen to that...

I'd like to think that Ah Loong's spirit answered Orked's call. Really liked the teary episode at the end. But I hope someone would have told Orked of Ah Loong's misfortune, or else I'd like to think she would wait for him forever. So sad..
Anyway, that guy really can joget/dance. :)
