Who here plays golf? I use to think golf is a boring game but after watching her play recently, I got all interested again.

I sense a sexist sentiment coming on, tone it down guys. In this age of the diplomatically correct, you don't want to be caught issuing sexist remarks or even implying that fine ladies even as with the remarkable Michele Wie as simply a sexual plaything on par with penthouse's centerfolds.

For some strange reason, somehow, the song 'The Reason' is playing in my mind....

In the world of female athletics (especially in individual sports), beauty and "sophistication" are just as important as sporting skills and athleticism...

Michelle Wie, Annika Sorenstam, Maria Sherapova, Anna Kournikova...valued as much for their looks as their sporting skills.

Nicol David...a great athlete...but not marketable because she isn't stunnigly pretty...we forgot about her before she became champ, and I'm sure we will forget about her pretty quickly when she is no longer world champ.

In contrast, Anna Kournikova hasn't won a single tournament...but she gets into music videos and is an international pinup.

Ah, the paradox is so interesting.

It's funny...did many women become interested in golf when Tiger Woods became a superstar? The man is handsome, he has a huge smile, and he is fit and strong (long walks daily, can bench press over 250lbs), and rich...

And dont forget, he is the best "asian" player in the game (with Vijay Singh a distant number 2).

Cheers, M

There is a difference between being called a pervert and being called a person who admires the beauty of the female gender. If you ask me, I am a pervert. Yeah, no doubt about that.

I dont care whatever games, as long as the man they have nice body and face, I'll watch it. That is why I love watching football. Not because of the ball but because there is man running around with the balls. You see not only men are pervert, women too.

Any of you guys saw the Robin Williams Live on Broadway by HBO? He was doing this bit on golf that absolutely crack me up. Here's the excerpt...

If ya want a linguistic adventure, go drinkin' with a Scotsman.
'Cause ya couldn't ****ing understand them before...
You land in Scotland and they're going:
- Oh, yeah. - Oh, yeah?
- Sure. - Oh, **** sure, eh!
- Sure! - Sure, you dumb ****ing bastard.
You realize how drunk they get, they could wear a skirt and not care!
And only they could invent a sport like golf.
Here's my idea for a ****ing sport.
I knock a ball in a gopher hole.
- Like pool? - **** off pool.
Not with a straight stick, with a little ****ed up stick.
I whack a ball, it goes in a gopher hole.
- Oh, you mean like croquet? - **** croquet!
I put the hole hundreds of yards away.
Oh, **** of ya ! Big fun, yeah!
- Oh, like a bowling thing? - **** no!
Not straight. I put **** in the way.
Like trees and bushes and high grass.
So you can lose you ****ing ball.
And go hacking away with a ****ing tire iron.
Whacking away, and each time you miss you feel like you'll have a stroke.
**** that's what we'll call it, a stroke,
cause each time you miss you feel like you're gonna ****ing die.
Oh great, oh and here's the better part. ****, this is brilliant!
Right near the end, I'll put a little flat piece
with a little flag to give you ****ing hope.
But then I'll put a little pool and a sand box,
to **** with your ball again.
Ay, you'll be there cracking you ass, jacking away in the sand.
- And you do this one time? - **** no!
18 ****ing times!
That's my idea of a sport!
The manly sport of golf,
where you can dress like a pimp and no one will care.

You guys sure she's the only reason you wanna play golf??
Something light-hearted to crack you golfers' morning up. Taken from somewhere.

You can play without risk of scandal.
Beats mowing the lawn.
Carrying clubs is considered socially acceptable.
Master the essential language: slice, shank, divot, bogie, green fee, sand trap, deep rough, mulligan, hacker, water hazard, double bogie, difficult lie, flub, handicap, worm burner, triple bogie, and Duffer.
Always a doctor nearby.
Would you rather do business at the office?
Handicap accessible.
Two methods to achieve a great score
a)play as you lie
b) lie as you play
The worse your game, the better the exercise.
"Holistic" stress reduction.
Great excuse to take a walk.
Work through bad lies without having to run for office.
Putting is such sweet sorrow.
Old golfers never die..they just putter out.
Drinking and driving is encouraged... especially by your opponents.

Mostly untrue? :p

If Nicol David (http://www.squashtalk.com/rankings/2006rankings/wispa57.htm) wont spur you, would this starlet (http://www.squashpics.com/vickybot/thong's_the_thing.htm) entice you to play the game again...
