Hi, does anyone have a really good sambal tofu recipe? Thanxs

TOFO SAMBAL

INGREDIENTS:
4 cakes towfo- each cut in two and then sliced into 1 cm thick pieces
INGREDIENTS to be finely ground or pounded:
4 fresh chilies and 2 dried chilies, some seeded, 1 stalk serai finely sliced, 1/2 tsp belachan,(optional), 6 small onions
1 cup coconut milk
8 medium prawns , whole or shelled chopped ( optional, for economy)
4 dsp vegetable oil
salt

METHOD:
Heat oil in frying pan. Fry pounded ingredients till cokked and fragrant, add prawns, stir well and when cooked, add the coconut milk1/2 and salt. When boiling, add the tofu, stirring gently and adding the rest of the coconut milk. Simmer till gravy thickens a little oil appears.

To economise, you can leave out the fresh prawns. If u like the flavour of dried prawns, use a dsp of them, washing thoroughly and soaking them in hot water before pounding them to break them up a little.

Yeah i do but it wont be sambal tofu anymore. Its a diff style . If you want can share with you the reciepe.

CHILLI TOW FOO

5 pieces tow foo, cut into cubes
100gm cashewnuts
10 dried chilies, cut into pieces
100gm spring onions, cut into 3 cm pieces
50gm mushroom, soaked and sliced
7cm long ginger, finely sliced
2 cloves garlic, finely sliced
1 tsp hoi sin sauce
1 tsp chillie sauce
1 tbsp mushroom sauce
1 tsp thick soya sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tbsp cooking oil
salt to taste

METHOD
Deep fry tow foo till pale brown
fry cashewnuts and dried chillies and keep aside.
Heat 2 tbsp oil. Fry ginger and garlic.
Add tow foo, mushroom and spring onions and fry.
Add chilli sauce, mushroom sauce, sesame oil, hoi sin sauce, pepper, sugar, salt and soya sauce and mix well.
just before dishing out, add the fried cashewnuts and dried chilies.
serve.
