Traditionally, Bolognese sause is made from beef mince,below is a basic recipe with variations.
Cut up 400g can of tomatoes, then drain them in a sieve. Peel and finely chop 1 onion and 1 carrot with 50g each finely chopped celery and fresh parsley in 25g butter until soft and golden, stirring occasionally. Melt 15g butter in another pan, add 300g minced beef and fry until browed and crumbly, breaking it up with a fork. Add the beef to the vegetable mixture, along with the tomatoes, 1 tsp meat extract and seaoning for taste. Can put in red wine if u have then the seasoning . Stir well, then bring to the boil. Cover and simmer gently for 20 minutes. Serve with spaghetti or noodles.
