At about noon today, when my 14-year old was at home alone (I had gone out to Giant and my maid to pick up my little one from school), the doorbell rang continuously (and annoyingly  ) for sometime. She finally went down to see who it was. There was a guy who said that he's conducting surveys for Celcom.

He then asked where mummy and daddy are and then several questions like do you use mobile phones, how many units, which operator, etc. Slowly he started to digress and asked other questions which even a 14-year old felt uncomfortable with! Later he asked for a drink but luckily my daughter was sensible enough to politely decline his request and went back into the house and switched on the alarm. She felt something was not right.... Then she saw the guy walked to my neighbour's - also no adult in the house and heard him asking "how come there's car in your porch when both your parents are not in?" How nosey!!

I called up Celcom helpdesk tonight to ask if they had sent anyone out to conduct survey - answer was negative! They wouldn't go door-to-door for any surveys. I have suggested to Celcom Careline to issue pubic notice/warning about this.

So folks, please beware.....and report if you encounter such character

They're baaaaaaaaaaaack!.....

This people don't give up, do they!? Irritating fellas, doing "survey" for evry major hypermarket la, soap manufacturer la, TV brand la, cooking pot la, and now for mobile phone companies....

These fellas should just stop being a nuisance/annoyance and use that persistance to ACTUALLY do some marketing or selling proper products like INSURANCE or CARS!

On the other hand, what Harmony said needs to be given some attention, just in case these fellas are checking your home security out or up to NO GOOD!

Err...Orchi would advice the maid n kids at home to NOT answer to any unknown persons outside the fence...they don't need to layan or entertain NOBODY...under any circumstances whatsoever...!

Should the freaking strangers persist...the maid n kids have been advised to call Orchi or wifey...

Ahem...there are loads of freaking strangers going about their freaking 'bizness' n nonsense around USJ 2...err...better be careful n stay very alert about these things... :)

The kids should be taught to keep the doors and windows locked from inside. Then open the electric gate for these interviewers to walk into the compound and immediately close the gate behind them, pull the lever to let the ROTTWEILER or PIT BULL out.... Semuanya selesai.....

.... and the next thing you know, the st*p*d regulations minded people of MPSJ would follow exactly what MPSA has done to the dog(gone!) owners there!

ANd the idiot that kena "kissed" nicely by the Rott or the (Brad)Pitt wanabe... he'd probably jump the bandwagon and say that he was attacked without warning.... ( conveniently opting not to say that he was in your compound  ) and try to sue you too...

Hmmmm... or mebbe I shud just inform the security guards at the housing entrance.... not to let these fellas in...

This kind scenario happened in USJ 6 also .. my mom was alone at home and suddenly tis fella came pressin' on the door bell tellin' my mom genuinely wanna giv us hampers only ..

Then, that fella kept on asking my mom to open the door for him to come in n pass the hampers la .. do some survey as well .. giv coupons / vouchers .. my mom jz close the door n ignore him .. so that fella went on to my neighbours hse n does the same thing ..

This kinda situation alwiz happens when we're either at work and leaving family at home alone ..

Those dengue fogging sellers has surfaced again, doing house to house calls. Got someone knocking on my front gates last week, saying that they are doing fogging and asking to close all doors and windows.

Next minute, the guy was so slick - nak issue receipt! What the heck? As far as I am aware, when it is MPSJ fogging, they just do it and it doesn't cost anything. Told them to go away - no receipt, no fogging.

Some neighbours paid, they got one blast of smoke in their front compound, whether it kills aedes or not, don't know.

some survey are true. For instance, a few months back, some girls (they normally will use girls) came and do a survey of asking what you think if there were a hypermarket to be built at your area, for sure I layan marr...true enough, at the enterance to my housing area, they are building a hypermarket. What I heard is Giant....

But there are some ppl are really pain in the a** such as those people come and give talks on religion. When I tell them politely No, they insist to talk to me. This makes me piss off. I just tell them off with a harsh tone. Then only they get my signal and walk off.

Normal la .... usually they'll use gurls to lure those single men to come out to their house compound .. then pretend to do a survey with you.

Dunno what they want also ..

I experienced a new gimmick the other day along sec 14 PJ parking area.

As I entered my car, a lady shouted from across the street, "Helloooo....how are you!!! Happy new year!", whilst running towards me. I was stunned and tried to see if she is my long lost friend (she sure tried to sound very enthusiastic in her tone as what you would when you discover your long lost friend). All this while my hands were busy settling my packed meals in the car. She then rambled on about something which I could not quite decipher...considering the "heat" of the moment.

I scanned her from top to bottom and confirmed I do not know her. Told her I gotta go and she got the cheek to ask me, "Why so fast...where you going?". Now that is offensive. Told her I really gotta go and slammed my car door and drove off.

Moral of the story...instead of a SYT, it could be a robber/conman/charmer using the same modus operandi, and it's effective because of the element of surprise employed. Take care.

Harmony Your daughter is briliant! My own parents don't have the habit of closing the front door, and that irritates me. But hey, I guess my deafness has good points. "sorry, I cannot hear you" and the cabut without feeling guilty or whatsoever. lol!

hmm.... a lotta surveyz or 'congratz u won rm5,000 worth of gudz!' kinda modus operandi cud be a scam.....

my neighbour complained b4 dat ppl came 2 her door askin abt d kinda electrical appliancez n equipmt she had.... 'got tv onot? got hi-fi onot? got computer onot?' etc etc.... whc wuz kinda none of their biznez n they hav no right nor purpose 2 ask such personal stuff.

in d end, my neighbour told tm nonchalantly.... 'ohhh, dun hav anythin la.... dun watch tv wun.... dun listen hi-fi wun.... dunno abt computer wun.... everythin oso dun hav.... cos no time la' cuz she suspected dat they were 'surveyin' 2 c which homez had suitable gudz 2 rob!! n i believe dat she did d rite thing. it iz better n safer not 2 entertain such ppl!!
